  1. By the way, those are JH13's Morpheus is holding. He is providing color choices...
  2. LEVEL- UP! Morphsci evolves to Morpheus!
  3. I'm gonna put a thong on mine.
  4. This is a problem with society. We assume much and take too many things for granted.
  5. I ordered one very early this morning. Not for me, though, gift for dad. I have too many watches already. Five, to be exact. NOTE: IF YOU USE COUPON CODE "SAVE2" DURING CHECKOUT (without quotes, of course) YOU SAVE $2.00.
  6. The avatar itself is not hilarious, it is where it was taken from that is. Some ebay listing asking for an outlandish price for a sub-par product... I forget what the system was exactly.
  7. Shhh! Someone has to buy new so we can get them used! sidenote: Monkey's avatar makes me crack up everytime.
  8. Wasn't Joseph Grado working on some fancy schmancy mic as well?
  9. Alfred Pennyworth: Why do we fall, sir? Bruce Wayne: So you can pick me the fuck up, you idiot! Now hurry the fuck up and gimme a hand. That's why I pay you for, shithead! Alfred Pennyworth:
  10. I was thinking more along the lines of venturing into licquor territory (as I am even more noobish on that than audio, so that says a lot), but I guess all those things mentioned above might be a possibility. NOTE: I still haven't received that cable I ordered that utilizes two usb ports to power one unit. I wonder how those will perform.
  11. Musiland Monitor USD 01 has arrived! Now I know what I'll be doing this weekend.
  12. I've never heard the 0404 myself, but I know it has other features I won't use, features that add to the price, making it unnecessarily more expensive for my needs.
  13. Yes, they are asynch, which is what prompted me to buy one. There are three models: USD01 is USB to spdif and toslink converver. US01 adds a DAC and headphone amp to USD01 US02 adds a built in power supply to US01 and an extra headphone amp I chose the 1st because I dont need the options of the other three (plus it looks like the BNC connection is not available in the other two, im not sure). The Trends Audio does well, but if the USD01 does up to 192kHz (whereas the Trends tops at 48kHZ) and does it well for almost half as much, it's a no brainer for me. But we'll see what happens when the unit arrives.
  14. Don't know if this helps any: http://www.head-case.org/forums/off-topic/1488-post-last-thing-you-bought-617.html#post276490 http://www.head-case.org/forums/off-topic/1488-post-last-thing-you-bought-617.html#post276499 I placed the order this weekend, so I expect to receive it by this weekend. Approx.~ $70-$80 on ebay for the Musiland Monitor USD.
  15. That's Brent? I really thought he was white. AHAHAHAHAHAHA What a revelation! I love this site.
  16. Bel Canto Dac3... Did I really type Cantdo? Anyhow, I just looked up the Trends UD, and it tops out at 48kHz. I actually didn't have known that until I started looking for other options in the USB/SPDIF converter.
  17. Oops, I meant 48 as well. Either way, its competitor looks promising at about half the Trends' price. Both the Bel Cantdo DAC3 and the AA Prima DAC go to 192, so that free download page will come in handy to see how the simple Musiland Monitor fares.
  18. ^As long as it's not the ears, it's all good.
  19. IMPORTANT NOTE TO MY PREVIOUS POST: The Trends is currently feeding my DAC with a BNC connection at the Trends side to a RCA connection at the DAC end. I don't even remember why I decided to go for this when I bought the cable many moons ago, but that's all I have at the time. No straight BNC to BNC (though I did place an order yesterday) or straight RCA to RCA connection (didn't order one of these, perhaps I should? I don't think I need one anyway, other than for testing purposes). I have not tried using a PSU as I remember that when I bought it the merchant told me to be careful with what wallwarts I use since some customers were returning messed up units after that. But that was a long time ago (like, 2 years ago I think?). I do use it with the external battery pack, but I forget to recharge batteries sometimes and just use the Trends thru USB. I've read other audio forums where people use a $250 PSU upgrade that's also used for the Squeezebox, but the Trends itself is half that almost... not the way I like to spend my money. I forget the name of that PSU... Now, the Musiland Monitor USD doesnt have an external power source, so it draws energy straight from USB port, which might be a disadvantage compared to the Trends. It so happens that I just ran across this, and might order one to see if it makes any discernible difference with either unit (it's a cable that splits into two USB cables to draw extra power from an additional USB port): 6ft USB 2.0 One B Male to Two A Male Y-Cable - Cables To Go I'll let you know what happens. If I don't, it's because I forgot, so please remind me.
  20. I already have a Trends UD10.1 for my USB to coaxial/spdif conversion. but it tops out at 44.1kHz, so I just placed an order for this to see how it does (it goes to 192kHz). Musiland Monitor USD 01: NOTE: I don't have any material other than CD's. I have some vinyl, bu tno means to do needle-drops. Regardless, you never know when I might acquire some high resolution files, like these free ones here, that I will use for testing when the unit arrives: http://www.2l.no/hires/index.html .
  21. Why am I having trouble locating that review?
  22. Brent did say it was sore, so it wasn't performing its best.
