Called and got my reservation rates for additional days. Check-in: Wednesday 2nd Check-out: Monday 4th This makes me a very happy fellow.

But Ari... um, as opposed to full-size cans, those don't cover much.

I placed my reservation early today, and had the same issue. I could only get Friday night and Sat night at the discounted rate, with checkout Sunday noon. I wanted to actually check in Wed and check out monday morning. Worse comes to worse, I might place a separate reservation fro Wed/Thursday, but I was hoping to get the discount rate for all days mentioned.

Thanks, I will get quotes from possible merchants, see what is best. Now, just your opinions, do you think I ought to get a cover that covers the plinth as well, or one that sits on it (it will have to have something to prevent scratching, obviously)? I know the size different will add to the cost, not to mention I will need cutouts in the back for the RCA and power cables if I decide to cover the plinth.

I've got hi-rez pics (2816x1880), but I'm not sure bandwith can handle so much hotness. Confirm/Deny Also, I have the Herbie mat. Should have taken pics with that one instead... grumble grumble...

Also, did you get a dust cover for it? I just started shopping for prices...

I need to look for an acrylic dust cover now. I want something that covers the whole thing though, not just sits on the plinth...

My newest acquisition (pics of actual unit): No cartridge installed as I haven't taken it off the other Thorens 125 I have (which will be put on sale). The above is a fully reconditioned, rewired Thorens TD125 in custom plinth with reconditioned SME 3009 tonearm.

She is definitely a keeper, and judging by the look in her eyes, she seems a genuinely happy person. Not too many of those around.

I like this thread. I like it a lot. Not because of the fortune found, but because of why it got lost in the 1st place, how it was found, why the neighbor asked why a bunch of CD's were up there, the "forsaken" biological father, etc. The story has characters, not cardboard cutouts. This would make a hell of a short story if expanded upon.

Someone sober has to keep Vicky company... I'll have to ask for the days off, see if I can get them. No promises yet. If I get the days, count me as designated driver. I just want to hang out with the crew, get to know you guys more.

What makes this even funnier is that the people who congratulated me today had already done so before. And thank you, Dusty, happy unbirthday to you too, my friend!

I just got approved for days off starting the Monday prior to the CJ weekend all the way until Tuesday after the weekend. This uses up 6 days of my rollover days. I still have 25 days to plan for other things. I don't know how money will be this year, though. We'll see. I am definitely going to CanJam though, probably arrive on Wednesday. I will book flight/hotel sometime this weekend. Unfortunately, I cannot share the room this time around, as I will have some other non-audio friends visiting Chicago as well who want to attend. However, this hasn't been confirmed. A month prior to the event I will announce whether I have room for people to crash in or not.

For those out of the loop, Ari posted that cake because one chatty evening we were discussing how cool it would be to print that "Starry Night" painting on the whole body of the Extreme if one were able to do so or had the means to pay for such a custom task (this was prior to the orange xtreme xtreme xtreme). Since that was but a dream, I see that a cake is completely within the realm of reality.

Is it doable, then, to make a switchbox that has a mix of balanced and SE ins/outs? I ask this because it'd be nice to have the ability to select a balanced source to balanced amp or balanced source to SE amp at will. I'm doing a lot of research everywhere as I intend to work on my 1st DIY project, a switchbox. If it turns out too difficult to do I'll just ass out and buy one. But I don't wanna be a punk!
