I definitely won't be able to attend. Too bad...

My current state: There is only ONE way to celebrate 1000 posts. 1000 begets 1000!: Woooo! Yes. One more. This is my last one. I swear... ...I am not right in the head.

No no no... what we need is cartoon versions of ourselves wearing cans. Hmmm, I'm gonna give drawing myself a go, come to think of it, coming weekend. Good practice and all. I'll have to take some reference pics of myself with cans to get the lighting right. If anyone wants to have themselves drawn wearing headphones (whether cartoon or realism), let me know! I love drawing. This will be my first attempt at "cartoon" style, though, as I lean more towards graphite realism.

Bunch of used CD's. Mostly "best of" compilations.

Well, for me the disadvantage of the GP (I assume you mean the GoldPoint) is that you are stuck with what you get. The Darwin is so modular, which is why I always wanted one. I had seen the GoldPoint before and was almost sold on it, except for the fact that it is not a matrix source selector. I want something with multiple inputs and multiple outputs. The Goldpoint is limited (by design) to having either the number of inputs or outputs limited to ONE only (depending on configuration chosen). It wouldn't suffice my needs. With multiple sources (turntable, DACses, etc) and multiple amps, I think you'd be better off with a matrix source selector as well. The Darwin is closer in function to the Manley Skipjack than the Goldpoint (reason why I didn't go Skipjack is because I want xlr jacks too). Hmm, question for others: can the Darwin be configured for balanced and SE in one chassis?

I don't know if the idea would be frowned upon, but there are some good things to be found on Craigslist that are not local, and many of us have run into them, so the obligatory "someone buy this for me" thread is made. Just wondering if there is a way to search users' locations to facilitate who we can contact for help. Come to think of it, most users have this info incomplete, so perhaps it wouldn't be practical to begin with... Hmmm.

Kingston 32GB SD card for Hifiman HM801 player. Bought it fromBuy.com with a free reader, like the one below. For now I'm using a 1GB card I had at home for testing.

How are things this year? Been a long time since Monkey's post was answered.

Awesome! thanks Also, Voltron, nice info on the blackness comparison of the amps. It is beginning to sound like the units are more akin to twins than just standard brother variety.

Started reading The Hobbit again after many years. I'd forgotten how much more fun this book was than the LOTR trilogy. Oh Bombur, you crack me up...

I like the fact that they included plastic caps. It's simple details like these that let you know that if they care as much about something so trivial, the stuff that matters is really looked after (much like a woman's toenails... always look at a woman's toenails, I always say). Anyhow, it looks better than I expected (judging from Voltron's pics). Say, where could I get plastic caps anyway?

Currently taking a break from sorting through all the LP's I picked up from that guy in the eBay auction. Much to my liking, there are soundtracks included in this grab bag! I will definitely be keeping those. Lots of stuff I don't know, some stuff I want to check out, few things Im just gonna throw away, and some vinyl I have repeated on CD that I want to compare... The man started laughing when he saw me pull up on my Mazda 3, saying no way I could fit all the boxes in there. I barely did. One more box and it'd have blocked the right sideview mirror from view. Car was loooooooooooooooow from the weight. Fun ride back home. Anyway, time to go sort evertyhing. I'll be making a list tomorrow, maybe. Also, couple of duplicates on there too. Everything needs cleaning though... =/

Getting a 1/4" thick acrylic cover for the new TT, with finger-lift cutouts as well as rear cutouts, for $200 shipped. Best deal I could find online, especially given the dimensions: (Inside cover measurements) Length: 24.25" Width: 20.50" Height: 10.00" Vendor: Acrylic Lucite display cases, turntable covers, dust covers, protective lids, plastic boxes. No base, as an acrylic base would be much too expensive, plus, I want the base to be of another material.

I just booked my flight. I'm good to go.

I tried uploading the high rez pics, but imageshack would get stuck. Also, I just mounted a cartridge, finally. But I have to relocate the table. Not stable where it sits right now. Hmmm.... I better get my brother's help moving this.

I just checked my email confirmation: Hotel Check-In Time: 15:00 Hotel Check-Out Time: 12:00 Number of Adults: 2 Number of Children: 0 Number of Rooms: 1 Room(s) Booked: KING ROOM Room Description: 1 King Grand bed:450 sq ft: Airport or Downtown view No double beds anymore. Doesn't matter to me, really. I'll be there Wednesday through Monday. I will definitely attend CanJam, but Wednesday and/or Thursday are still undecided, as a group of friends of mine will also be attending and want to see the city (people I have known over 10 years). I'm torn as to how I should divide my time now...
