On my way to the Chicago Field Museum with my local Chicago friends, we ran across the following when turning a corner: What the hell?! Someone had this in their backyard?!?!? We ran outta there... look how that big bera is standing! That is some crazy-ass ghetto gang shit right there. And the little one is already saying, "Your face is charred, momma bera. How I make fire from mouth?" We hauled outta there...

I remember I used to have a problem with grinding my teeth while sleeping. I began to use one of those silicon medical guards during my sleep, but I don't know if I'm cured. I think I am though, as none of my roomies complained during CJ week.

I give up.

I'm one to favor subtlety in double-meanings, so my vote goes for... ...Pinnochio.

This thread is too long. For those who want to know what happened, here's a summary:

From my Chicago museum visit (photos taken by a friend, since I forgot my camera), clearly a sign of Canjams in ages past:

Taking a pic focused on her boobs? Priceless.

Wasn't there a gay convention somewhere else in chicago during canjam weekend too? I know at the hotel there was Canjam... and boobs convention... and prom night...
-
I am half gay.

As far as colors go, I asked and it only comes in black or copper/bronze tone for now.

My ideas are revolutionary. But I digress. I do not wish to derail this thread.

It's like hell's version of Noah's Ark.

For real? Who? You do? Oh shit, headcase is going global now, bitches! Aww yeaaaa...

Oh, and Shelly, it also took a lot of courage for you to do the same. It's too bad I didn't dedicate enough time to the crew to get to know you. My apologies. I also have a confession to make: I am Latino, but I can't dance SALSA for shit. Unlike you guys, this is an embarrassment that must be corrected, so I will need either Steve or Shelly to be my dance partner in Dancing With The Stars, but I have to become famous first, which could be made possible if I supply Bang Bros. with some ideas... (reaches for his bowl of sprinkles)

The thread title totally threw me off. I thought this was going to be about how many women are into the hobby, so I was somewhat surprised (not totally, to be honest) about the declarations made. It wasn't that hard to swallow, though. As such, Steve, I think you should send me a wooden decorative piece to commemorate this event, please. Put a little plaque on it that says "to screaming oranges: it is true, citrus makes all things taste better." EDIT: also, this is one long-ass thread to have developed so shortly. It went from one post and grew to an outrageous size that I can't handle right now. I will have to take my time on savoring all the details.

I just woke up from my flight back. I left Chicago at 7:00pm on Monday evening, got to Ft Lauderdale at 11:00pm. Got picked up, arrived home, and just went to sleep. This was certainly a memorable trip for me, but for much different reasons than all of you. I know I didn't spend much time with the crew (save for Saturday super late night show, going to sleep at almost 5am that day) and Sunday, but in the end I felt I made the right decision as one of my local Chicago friends is shipping out to the armed forces two months from now. Life is unpredictable, and I don't know when I will see him again. He certainly cherishes this vacation (as it was his birthday as well). As for the CanJam event itself, super well-organized. The layout of multiple smaller rooms really lent itself to better listening conditions. Also, I got to see almost every major landmark during my stay, since it was my first time out in this city, and I am glad I did. I did my last sightseeing on Monday afternoon (spent all day in the Aquarium, an awesome experience), and then stopped by Reckless Records two hours before I left on Blue Line towards O'Hare airport. It was fun having 30lbs of vinyl strapped to my back. The ride home was also delightful, shared music with the girl next to me, who was astounded by the sound quality of the AT W10JPN, and then we had fun going through a Cosmopolitan magazine someone from a previous flight left behind. All in all, there was so much going on during this particular vacation that I simply didn't have time to do all the things I wanted to do, and I will certainly be going back some day.

Truer words have never been spoken. "out of the mouths of babes," as the saying goes... btw, speaking of babies... ...Heh. I am damn glad I joined up for the late-night show. Wow.
