I know that people turn into zombies after death. What I wonder is, do the bodies keep decomposing after the zombification, or is it a fixed state at that point? I imagine the bodies keep decomposing... which would explain why some zombies look more gruesome than others (foregoing the method in which they became zombies). However, if this is the case, this implies that the zombified bodies can decompose to the point of a second death...

Zombies get wood? On the subject of "what happens after all humans are dead," I imagine some discrimination would eventually emerge on the basis of how many limbs are missing, deterioration level, etc.

Geneapalozza: A Celebration Of All Things Gene

I meant to say three weeks ago. It was a 2-footer. I feel bad now for killing it. I should have found a way to catch it and released it in the wild. -

I killed a snake in the bathroom three years ago. Also, my car will be there, just like last meet (but not for Friday). -

BA will be there. Also, Friday, two people from my dept are out, so it will even be a heavier day than usual. I will be there very late Friday night. I imagine most are arriving Friday at the airport, but if anyone needs a lift on Saturday morning, I'm at your service (needless to say, shuttling anyone/all back to airport for departure is not a burden. My pleasure). I will reserve a room later today when I get home from work, for Friday/Sat/Sunday, with checkout Sunday afternoon. -

I will try my best to get Friday off. That's the first thing I'll do tomorrow when I get back to work. If someone in the dept. is already planned for vacation, I have to fill in. It's my job as Floater. -

Ok, people, Im back from Nicaragua. As for this trip, I will be driving up and, as usual, can provide shuttle service at will. Not a problem at all. I will have to work that Friday though, but I'll see what can be done (no promises on friday morning, but I will be there for the weekend). I will book a room once I know if I will be there friday or not. Anyone can crash in, I don't care. I'll just take the BA if enough people want to listen to it... if anyone does, lemme know. It is PX-4/300B tube build. I have PX4 tubes. -

I had anawesome vreakfast: fresh cheese, fresh eggs, "cafe con leche" (coffee with milk), and fresh ground-corn tortillas, while I saw the sun rise from my uncle's humble farm in a mountainous region in Nicaragua. The ISP is up and running on their home now, so now I can talk to them when I get back home. Already Skyped with my family back in the States. This. Is. Awesome.

What are you driving your K1000 with?
screaming oranges replied to swt61's topic in Headphone Amplification
The acrylic cover was off during listening sessions. That pic was sent to me this morning because the headfier doesnt want it and seeks to persuade me to buy it for my amp. Yes, I let himborrow it for the next two weeks, as I will be going to Nicaragua and wont be enjoying it anyway, so might as well have someone enjoy it meantime. (I will get some private time with the K1000 upon my return) -

This weekend I went to visit Harold (audiogalore from head-fi) over at his place. I heard his K1000 out of my Balancing Act (PX4 tube configuration). I really liked what I was hearing. I compared it immediately with the HD800 balanced, and though it usually takes me a couple of back/forth to pinpoint the differences, it was so blaringly obvious that there was no contest. The K1000 not only sounded more open (which was expected), but in the particular track we were auditioning, I don't know how to describe it... the sound was much more organic. There was this real guttural je-ne-sais quois to the horns' notes. I never post impressions on gear because I suck, frankly, but I was really impressed with the K1000 this time around (I've listened to it at meets, but be it the ambience or whatever, I was never really wowed by them). It was as if you could hear the notes bouncing off inside the horn and then bursting out, whereas with the HD800, they were just kinda there, with some of the frequencies even slightly melding into the rest of the music. I must get a K1000. From what I have read, some people say the BA doesn't match well with the K1000. The only thing I'd have to say is that the volume had to be between the 1 o'clock and 2 o'clock position to be at a sweet spot, so unless you like blasting your eardrums, I don't consider this a problem as there is still plenty of overhead remaining. In short, I liked what I heard. A lot. -
