  1. I'm glad you found a speed you like Ken. I myself like the 1000-1300 range for normal computing, a little higher for gaming.
  2. I think it means: What the fuck??? Nobody wants to sell their Aristaeus!!!
  3. Good to hear that. The reason I was inquiring about this is to see if it's redundant to own both the 2399 and 5998.
  4. Anyone here have any info about this tube? I read somewhere that this is a higher quality 6AS7G but upon inpection, I see that it has 5998 plates. This is where I'm confused: Is this tube supposed to sound like a 6AS7G or a 5998? BTW, I got my Chatham 2399s when I got my Extreme used and I like it....spacious and detailed but the 7236 trumps it in speed and punch.
  5. I'm on the exact same boat as you Alex. The Woo is supposedly gonna have a somewhat different presentation from what I've read - the Woo is more euphonic and "emotional" while the BHSE is cleaner and more transparent. Per Jack, the production WES should have a lot more dynamic swing and cleaner bass compared to the prototype at CanJam. I think Woo typically asks for the sum total to be pre-paid but you can ask Jack if a different payment schedule is possible as this is one expensive amp.
  6. You're right Al, I just read the review. Jack told me that the final production version will truly blow away the prototype that was in CanJam.
  7. Ditto....I really liked the three headphone jacks on the original P-1.
  8. I have the same one, but not the latest Alpha series from last year. Top notch materias and build quality but will not stand up at times if the large front compartment is empty. Other than that, it's a great laptop bag that will last for years and years.
  9. I'm considering a Transporter as a source upgrade in the not so near future and I was just wondering if anyone here has heard the Modwright modded Transporter? Dan Wright sent one to CanJam but I didn't get a chance to really listen to it. I did play around with Grahame's stock Transporter and liked it but wasn't sure if it was playing by itself or if it was hooked up to Al's Amarra. Any opinion or impressions would be greatly appreciated!
  10. Happy Birthday Mike!
  11. Sorry to hear about that CJ, my condolences
  12. Western Digital MyBook 1GB External Hard Drive
  13. I love mint leaves! I'm planning on having some during my lunch break....
  14. Created some quarter-end reports....what a pain in the ass! Stared at my computer from 9am-145pm....need the rest of the day off now....
  15. Maybe you can not only fix my Extreme but mod it to drive my Omega 2s?
  16. Happy birthday CJ!
  17. How about this: regardless of whether Mike succeeds or not, you'll sell me the Aero DAC for a $50 PREMIUM?
  18. Lucky you, I'd take a broken hex screw over a broken resistor anyday!
  19. One of the resistors blew and would supply power to the tubes. The trafo still gets some juice as I can still hear it humming lightly. At least for now, the trafo is not busted. Your extreme is still working right, it's just the hex screws that are busted?
  20. I'm taking the following: HF-2 O2 Mk2 Stax SRM-1 Mk2 Pico DAC/Laptop Broken Extreme - maybe flecom can check it out?
  21. Stax O2 MkII HF-2 Behind by a more than a few country miles: Freq Freqshows
  22. No shit! I have a P229 9mm that Bruce Gray worked on that I'm thinking of selling to fund my stat rig. Should I bring it to the meet?
