You're probably right, I sure they would have just given me a new one instead of fixing my unit! This is one of the few times where I would actually put principle ahead of getting something that is beneficial to me in the long run. At the moment I was just so fed up with buying these fucking things every 18 mos. It's not as if I'm a really heavy user, at most my Xbox gets 10-12 hours max play a week. Having shat all over MS, I gotta admit that I do still like the 360 more than the PS3 as far as gaming is concerned. The 360 controller fits my hands better and I like the new Xbox interface as well as Xbox Live.

I had a fan on my first and second 360s and that didn't prevent them from crapping out (it did help out the heat issue though). The first time I had my current 360 repaired (by an independent console repair guy and not MS.....I ain't giving them another fucking dime) he "modded" the fan where it now pumps out a shitload more air but is really noisy (my watercooled PC is waaay quieter). It has broken around 3 more times since his first repair and each repair was free under his one-year repair warranty. I was curious what could be going wrong with these things as they break all the time and he told me that the soldering on these things are horrendous and each time I send it in, he has to pretty much fix more and more solder points. Maybe Mikhail works for Microsoft's XBOX division....wasn't there a rumor that someone tracked him down and he now works for Microsoft? Anyway, after the fourth repair, it's been working fine for around 6 mos. straight now so I guess all the shitty solder joints have been fixed.

Not to be a downer but I hope the new 360s are much more reliable than the old ones. I'm on my 4th one since 2006 and my last one has been repaired 4 times. If I get to meet Bill Gates in the future, the first thing I'm telling him after I shake hands with him is that his XBOX 360s (at least the old ones) are fucking turds. I definitely suggest buying the Microsoft extended warranty. BTW, just picked up an Apple TV last night....it's almost worth it just for the Netflix interface

Apparently, I've been getting wrong advice from some Apple employees....I called 2 different Apple stores, visited one and called the Apple sales line and 3 out of the 4 people I spoke to said that buying Applecare outside the 90-day phone support period WILL NOT cause loss of phone support. And the 3 people who said it wouldn't cause a loss sounded much more confident than the 1 person who said otherwise so I guess I'm gonna go with that. If I do end up w/o phone support in the future, I'm just gonna complain

I'm rolling up to my 90th day of owning my iPhone 4 in a day or so and I just found out that to get the 2-year phone support from Applecare, you have to purchase on of before your 90th day; if not, you will only get the 2-year phone warranty but not the 2-year phone support deal. So my question is: Is AppleCare worth getting for the iPhone? I have had no indications that I will need phone support so far and build quality is excellent per Apple's quality standards but of course, these things can break at any time. Any thoughts/opinions on iPhone Applecare?

I'm glad the sodomization of my team is over.....looking forward to playing better on Week 2. My starters have a lot of room to improve but I did like what I saw from my bench, particularly Palmer and Dez. Time to work the waiver wire! On a more positive note, I "lost" in my paid league last night by around 2 points but when I woke up this morning after the stats were made official, I ended up winning by 3.5 points.....I'd rather be lucky than good!
