  1. First time working with bondo. Did a few test runs prior to using it to fill the gap, but I was still a bit surprised when the bondo started to solidify. Hopefully it blends well after it's primer'd! Have a couple of whiteside router bits on the way so I should get some decent progress on the SR-71 once those come in.

Do post about Dragon Age when you get around to it. It sounds like quite a fun game!

Pretty much the same thoughts I had of the pc version. It seems they really want people to buy console!
  4. Two coats of Minwax satin poly clear, don't mind the dust as I was just getting ready to wet sand in preparation for the next two coats. Given that I'm spraying outside without any sort of paint booth, I'm quite satisfied with the finish so far. After doing a quick fit test I noticed the layers of paint had made the tweeter hole too small for the tweeter to fit, so I actually had to sand the paint back down. Guess I cut it a bit close with the original cut
  5. Let me know how that bosch colt works out for ya, I came across it while looking for a router and it looks quite handy!
  6. Glad you approve! I was waffling between a couple different ones, but I decided to invest a bit more into it. Coming from a porter cable it's a whole different ball game. The smooth bearings that haven't even been broken in, trigger switch, a robust plunge limiter that seems strong enough to prevent wandering (as I've had the misfortune with previously), along with the led lighting all certainly impress on initial inspection. I'm interested in seeing how the constant speed function will effect the mdf routing I do. Any pointers on good router bits? Was thinking of going with fine woodworking's recommendations.

  8. I think it's possible that Verizon's new phone will be some iteration of a Android 2.0 phone. There's been some previews of it here: Android 2.0 screenshot walkthrough : Boy Genius Report It looks to be quite good.
  9. Take apart one of the active noise canceler devices, put the mic right next to the speaker, hook up some of your own speakers nearby. Pseudo silence?
  10. hah! Should've known they already exist. Nice one Sir Stretch
  11. I think that's because the I2S standard was designed as an internal bus spec On the flip side, imagine the horrors of audiophile I2S cables....eek.
  12. In the past most products have used a RJ45, though I don't think there's any particular standard on the pinout of the RJ45 outside of each maker. The PS Audio uses a hdmi jack, which would be convenient if others used it, but I have yet to see any other companies use the hdmi.
  13. I haven't heard about that, I'll have to take a look at this lunacy!
  14. The new 5870 seems to be pretty powerful, it mostly matches up with nvidia's dual chip card in performance. Not sure if six monitors would work well though
  15. I must say, for one post that's quite an impressive feat Grahame just posted.
  16. I think a driving or flight sim with numerous monitors should be pretty fun....
  17. I'd just hard reboot it and recreate partition/quickformat; but that's just me Btw, have you taken a look at miniSAS connectors? One cable to connect eight drives, it's so convenient though it requires a card and chassis that supports it.
  18. I generally like to do a normal format at least once in the lifetime of a drive, but that's mainly due to my own paranoia/habits. For raids it's not really worth the time investment, IMO
  19. Wish I could've been there, esp. for the workbench session!
  20. Metallic lettering inlaid into the wood? Sounds good to me
  21. It's a service but you can use myfax.com's 30day trial to send it. It's not too cheap but you can use your local Kinko's services to fax it out. Alternately, I have an efax account, if you don't mind I could send it for you.
  22. Did they at least ring the doorbell?
  23. My shipment of household goods showed up today, so I had fun time arranging everything to fit in my garage nicely. Interesting note: only with the US Government can you ship a crate by plane two weeks before shipping out the rest of the crates by boat....and have the boat shipment delivered before the crate shipped via air.
