  1. Well that didn't take long.
  2. ^ Awesome! I picked up a cooler for my video card and a new case. Spent most of the day swapping parts and installing the cooler, but it's all set and done now
  3. Looking at the frequency response from here there's definitely a bit of a hump around 150hz which is what you're probably hearing. Have you tried plugging/blocking the port? Perhaps with a piece of tape? There's a chance it'll kill off too much bass, but might be worth a try. Red line indicates the nearfield responses of the port. I'm with you shelly, the A5's are great!
  4. wow!
  5. My friend had the same shoe size and had a hell of a time finding shoes in Japan.
  6. Holy shit it looks like both of you had quite a misadventure, boomana and Knuckledragger! I'm glad I don't have such drama in my life, though uneventful doesn't even begin to describe my life...

Yea, pretty good price; I paid about $150 from amazon a few months back.
  8. Wow. That affidavit sure puts the whole thing in a different light for me.
  9. Another possibility would be to wire in a ground loop breaker into the cable itself.

C'mon, a resurrection every now and then doesn't hurt
  13. Bought replacement parts that I didn't need for my gamma2. Oops. Guess that's as good a reason as any to build a second one eh?
  14. Happy Birfday!
  15. What is the thing it's hooked up to? I do like the slim and er4-s as well
  16. Woot! Hurray for (working) gamma2's!
  17. Good points on both counts.
  18. If you used a slightly taller version of the gamma2 enclosure you can even fit a toroid in there as well That's what I'm planning on building for the S25 for the gamma2. But I'll admit, a matching power supply case would be pimp.
  19. It measures at 460mA. I'll just wait until I fix my gamma2 before I do any more talking about usb power. for me
  20. Yeah, I know that
  21. It's possible, as my gamma2 is not in a particularly working order at the moment. I managed to pipe 12vdc into it by accident. Currently awaiting replacement parts, though troubleshooting thus far (including replacement of the regs) seems to indicate that the 8501 is dead. Hopefully not much else died along with it.
  22. With the assistance of a sacrificial usb cable I did a bit of measuring. It seems that the voltage dips when hooked up to the Gamma2, but with no load they all measured roughly at 5v. For reference, my wall AC measures 120.1V. Computer: No load: 5.01V Gamma2: 4.45V Usb hub: No load: 5.15V Gamma2: 4.59V Garmin usb power brick: No load: 5.02V Gamma2: 4.84V I already threw out the cheapy usb power brick that measured 4.3V with the Gamma2 so I can't measure that one.
  23. The whining would overwhelm the internet if they found out that he posted it here first. On topic: Picked up my Pico Slim from the post office! Woot!

    sick of head-fi

    WTF is FWIR?
  25. Perhaps I'm just really unlucky. I'll do some more measuring tonight and see what I get.
