I have the Asus STX and as a source it's not bad, but the amping isn't perfect. People make it out to be all that you need for a wonderful audiophile setup, when in reality it's just a somewhat decent soundcard that has better than average amping for a soundcard.
It's very obvious that the amp was designed to be extremely easy to build and I realize that's the reasoning behind the jacks. I just prefer to have my jacks on the front panel
The only thing I don't like about the amp is the top mounted jack, but I think it shouldn't be too difficult to mount it on the front wood panel (I think).
That was the idea behind my comment, though I was thinking more of the D2000 for the frame and pads. Make a nice wood cup, bolt it in and toss in your favorite driver. That's why I only mentioned the frame and pads.
I wasn't thinking the MarkL "mod" but rather headphone driver transplant + DIY cup "mod".
I was shooting for the pun there I have b22 and dynahi boards but they're still a ways away from being completed >.>
I'd like to see pics of the RB010 innards, I've seen it recommended quite a bit on that other site...
