  1. How much have you spent on tubes (only) so far? With burn-in, it sounds 2062.7% better.
  2. I see. The activations only count against you if the hardware has changed enough for it to count.
  3. Are you speaking of physically installing or legally installing on two computers? Although the EULA for both XP and Win7 specify that every machine that they are installed on must have their own license, you can activate each license five times (after which you are required to call in for activations). You can install and activate multiple machines with a single license, but you're not supposed to.
  4. True enough, I'm just hoping to get a setup where I can measure more than headphone amps No details?
  5. I like Adobe's discount as well If you need more than one license the Win7 family pack might be worth it...
  6. What setup do you have? I'm trying to figure out a workable PC Based measurement setup. So far, I'm looking at building Pete Millett's soundcard interface and Cordell's distortion magnifier for starters....
  7. It's nowhere near how much you're ending up paying for yours
  8. I was speaking more of the difference between the baffle and the metal frame of the speaker drivers. If you have the skills to wrap the baffle, I say do it! That would look sexy. Marc brings up good points though....
  9. Doh! I'm guessing that backups are only done weekly?
  10. No easily available backup of said document?
  11. grats bhjazz! That total really is a great showing by the community.

Tour of the scan-speak factory: Fast Arbejde - Scan Speak | TV/MIDT-VEST It's narrated completely in danish I believe, but nonetheless it's still interesting to see how the drivers are put together. The sight of a full rack of Illuminator drivers at 1:00 or so is spiffy as well
  13. Oh I get the point, I was just trying to be cheeky...that's all
  14. True enough, I didn't mean to imply that was the only option.
  15. I think that may be the safer option as the yet to be determined release date might have you waiting some time for it to come out.
  16. To me, that answer seems to imply that the 93-SE will be a completely different unit...
  17. well, it's not a dynamic headphone, but an orthodynamic headphone....that's gotta count for something, right?

    Audeze LCD-2

Spritzer, I just had to look up your post since distinctly remember reading somewhere that damping factor has an effect at the very least
  19. Grats and welcome to the collective?
  20. Subsonic frequencies are present in movies, though it's not too common. Dusty is right though, there seems to be a trend lately for movies to throw in low frequencies just for the sake of increasing tension...but I'm not sure just how low those notes they are using to do that reach. SVS has a good selection of waterfall charts to give a visual of how deep some movies/music tracks go: SVSound - FAQs SVSound - FAQs I never realized Blue Man Group - PVC had such low frequencies, strong 10hz presence:

True enough, there's definitely fanboyism about speakers as well.

Perhaps it's a fringe benefit of headphones that you can listen to a headphone while raving about them on a forum?
  23. Slightly late...but happy birthday
