  1. The interface looks a lot better. I think this may be my next camera if ISO performance matches the 7d.
  2. Hope you had a great b-day!
  3. D800 http://nikonrumors.com/2011/11/19/ladies-and-gentleman-i-present-to-you-the-nikon-d800.aspx/
  4. I think I'd need to either get a new strap or at least a shoulder pad.
  5. Need a new bag for 13" laptop+books for school and DSLR+1 lens without laptop when traveling. Down to these choices: Tenba Messenger Mini Olive Pros: small, cheap(er) ($93), rugged, utilitarian, well built, all the pockets I need Cons: pretty generic look ONA Union Street Pros: extremely high quality, looks awesome, all the pockets I need Cons: really pricey ($269), very big (over 16" wide) Moop Messenger #2 Pros: Looks great, rugged Cons: Pricey ($183), no inserts (another $30-50) Mulholland Lombard Street Pros: Looks good, rugged, well built Cons: Pricey ($190), no inserts (another $30-50), too metro? Right now I'm leaning toward the Mulholland but it might be too metro. What do you guys/girls think?
  6. Agreed on the 50 1.4 sigma. I own that lens myself.
  7. Go with the 50mm 1.8G or 1.4G. Better bokeh, low light.. etc. You need the extra 1 or 2 stops indoors, especially on a D70.
  8. If you shoot mostly landscapes, I'd trade the 550d in for a 5dmk 1 and get a 17-40.
  9. When did you get the 50mm 1.2L Jeff?
  10. I think everyone's just gonna recommend eneloops.
  11. What's the cheapest safe place online to buy a new unlocked iphone 4?
  12. You have to OC it to make it run smoothly. You really need a dual core to get a tablet to run smoothly without OC.
  13. http://www.dpreview....00announced.asp S100 Digic 5! Also IS and a grip.
  14. That's exactly my setup.
  15. I don't know. Being an engineer, I just don't like how so many processes are done by hand. And some even without gloves!
  16. Thanks for sharing. That video really doesn't give me a positive impression of the quality of that lens.
  17. Kirk and RRS are about the same in terms of plates. RRS might be a tad more solid. If you are taking macros, I assume you will be switching between portrait and landscape a lot, so you probably should get an L-plate. That being said, they are pretty heavy, and the photoclam head tilts 90 degrees (although not with a lot of freedom and not past 90). IMO, for macro, you should get one. For travel, a regular plate will do.
  18. Yes, I bought both from them. No problems.
  19. I don't have any problems with the CT-3441 for traveling but then again, I'm not doing Thom Hogan things. If you plan on doing macro most of the time though, I'm not sure a ball head is your best option. I dunno.. I'm not a macro shooter.
  20. I have Feisol legs and they are good for the money. The best heads for the money are definitely the ones from photoclam. Sadly, you're never going to get the results you really want on a TN monitor, which your MBP has. You shouldn't invest in calibration because good ones can get pricey. Just save up for an external and live with what you have. You can also try adjust the color of your monitor to match the digital photos with the prints but if done incorrectly, this can have very negative results. Edit: One other option is to buy a 2001fp. It's one of the first IPS monitors and I can personally confirm that to this day, there isn't a panel today that looks significantly better. It can be had on ebay for 100 or 150
  21. it's both. I tend to hate it more than like it though. Only the top one is HDR btw.
  22. http://www.eoshd.com...-ii-nikon-d7000 I seriously doubt the validity of this but if it's a step forward at all from the NEX-5, I'll bet it surpasses the 7d and D7000. edit: Nevermind, took a look at the raws and it's still far behind the D7000. It just uses very aggressive NR.
