  1. The copy paste buttons seem to be useful. Would you prefer that all the other keys be stretched out across the entire screen? I think the keys would be super wide and hard to type on. Swiftkey has an option for one hand mode where it shifts all the keys to one side. You can also do split keyboard like so: http://venturebeat.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/swiftkey-3-tablet-split-keyboard-with-light-theme.jpg
  2. You iphone users are in for a treat. Please please please upgrade to swiftkey(i like to disable flow). It's not quite as good as the android one, but it's way better than the apple keyboard that you've been stuck with for the past 4 years. The other good one is fleksy but it has a bit of a learning curve.
  3. I'd like to trade CJ Spiller + Cobb or Cruz for a WR upgrade.
  4. This used to be how fantasy football defense worked back before 2005. It was probably changed for Devin Hester.
  5. um.. I'm gonna veto this. You're trading a bottom tier QB and TE for 2 mid end RBs. That's preposterous.
  6. Sigh. Morning after the wedding night and I'm posting on HC. I also was 'forced' to have a double of Elijah Craig Barrel Strength. I know, I know.. I was suffering. As per other reviews, fantastic whisky at a fantastic value.
  7. Since I'm getting married this weekend, I won't be available Thursday through Saturday. I could do Sunday through Wednesday in the evening.
  8. As long as the draft time is during a weekend and NOT the weekend of 8/30, I'm in. (I am getting married that weekend.
  9. Kilchoman is great juice but not great value. I wanted that bottle for a while too but there's better values out there, especially from the independent distillers. I'd highly recommend the bottle of Burnside if it's still available. I'm sure this is great as well for the same money.
  10. I'm tentatively in against my wife's advice. Last year's season took a toll on my soul. We doing auction?
  11. Wow! Thanks for the bday wishes, everyone! I had a great day yesterday with my fiance and her family. I also sneaked in a few nips of 25 year old Balvenie.
  12. I thought this was pretty cool.
  13. Must be time to buy another bottle then.
  14. Anybody interested in a NIB Zeiss Touit 32mm f/1.8 for X mount before I hawk in on FM? I got in on the 2 for 1 deal and I already have the Fuji 35mm 1.4. I may also be interested in selling my 35 1.4 instead. Not my pic: http://www.luminous-landscape.com/reviews/zeiss_touit_first_2_lenses.shtml http://www.photozone.de/fuji_x/863-zeiss32f18
  15. I have a Quickfire Stealth with browns sporting sph 4 keycaps. They're my unicorn. I'm a big fan of SA keycaps. Like you, Tyler, I also have Penumbras coming. I've also been meaning to try ergoclears but too lazy/incompetent to desolder/resolder. But with the imminent introduction of the CM Novatouch, I probably won't even bother with MX switches much longer. Not my pic but looks like this without the iso layout. I was never a fan of ErgoDox because I couldn't get used to some of the key locations. If I wanted to do nonstandard key configs, I'd spend the time and effort to learn Dvorak instead.
  16. Whisky changes with time after opening due to oxidation. However, it is minimal if you leave it closed all the time. Also, there is very little oxygen when the bottle is nearly full. The effect is greatest as the alcohol level decreases. Open it up and drink it. As you do, you'll notice it changing a bit. Don't worry about it, just drink. Also, I'd agree that Laga 12 is the best of the bunch (haven't had Bruichladdich 16 but had others in the range) but it's not necessarily your cup of tea if you don't love peat. If you're not experienced with peat, start cheaper. If you know you like peat, then go for it! Other recommendations in the price range: Macallan 17 Fine Oak, Springbank 18, Highland Park 18, Yoichi 15, Hibiki 17. If feeling adventurous, try some independent bottlers. Been salivating over this for weeks: http://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/P-21598.aspx
  17. Also use mirror lockup. Sent from my LG-E970 using Tapatalk
  18. I may pick up a bottle of Four Kings but I probably won't go out of my way. More of a novelty than anything.

    cosmos

Very enjoyable. Did a great job staying true to the original vision that made Cosmos so successful the first go around: the connection between us humans and the universe.
  20. Thanks for the notes. I agree that we'll be seeing a lot more GlenDronach in the future. I think sherried scotches appeal a lot more to newer, especially American, Scotch drinkers. I'd like to hear your notes on the standard 15yo release.
  21. I shoot X-E1. The X-T1 looks like a nice upgrade though. But first, I want that 56mm f/1.2.
  22. My whisky vocabulary sucks. And I find general whisky vocabulary to be a little bullshit/subjective. That's why I try to say as little as possible and summarize it to whether I like it or not. That said, I think Lagavulin 16 is herbal, salty smoke with some iodine/hospital. It's quite balanced due to age. If you get Laphroaig, I think it's like eating bacon in a hospital.
  23. I just wanted to provide an update on two scotches that have drastically changed my opinion of themselves in polar opposite ways as I delved deeper into the bottle. Port Charlotte 10yo Heavily Peated This Islay whisky has quite a bit of floral and fruity peat to it. It's smooth and complex, beyond its years, very much like the Bruichladdich offerings. But as I get deeper into the bottle, I find myself grabbing for other Islay whiskies instead. It lacks the character and the boldness of the other great heavily peated Islay offerings like Ardbeg, Laphroaig, and Lagavulin. It doesn't have the campfire or iodine notes that distinguish each of the other distilleries. I certainly still think it's a good dram but I would buy it more often if it was near the $50 mark instead of $70. I understand that they are somewhat of a craft distillery and their lower volumes and more time intensive methods have intrinsic value and are worth the addition cost. I very respect what Bruichladdich are doing and they are still one of my favorite distilleries but I really think that their subtle, rich, complex whiskies are better unpeated. On the first couple of tastings, I would have given it somewhere in the high 80s, but now I give it an 82. Yoichi 15yo This bottle started out quite unremarkable. It had very little flavor and a strong alcohol punch even though it's bottled at 45%. As my palate settled down and the flavors opened up after the bottle had been opened, things became more and more interesting. It is quite Japanese in character; Very subtle but extremely complex. It is comparable to many 20 or 25 yo. It's obvious that care had been taken to both engineer the flavor and produce the whisky. It has strong oak notes with floral and nutty flavors. It might be worth noting that I made the purchase in Japan before it was available in the US purely based on perceived scarcity. After opening, I was disappointed with the investment. But if you ask me again now, I'd say it's just about worth the $120. I would liken it to a good Springbank. Initially, I would have given it no more than low 80s but now I would give it a solid 90. It is the best scotch that I have open right now; On par with the Uigeadail. Summary: Yoichi 15 - great, Port Charlotte 10 - not so great.
  24. Speaking of ryes, I really really want to try Old Potrero's Hotaling's Single Malt Whiskey. It's distilled from 100% malted rye which is AFAIK, completely unique. It is damn near impossible to find, however. I found a bottle of the 8 year years ago but I had no idea what it was at the time. Now I regret not buying it.
