Thanks everyone! Eleanor got me a bottle of Oogie, and between that and a legal smoke, I think it's looking like a good night! Also, my boss presented me with cupcakes this morning. So all in all, I'm gonna call this day a success.
BBQ'd a couple of striploins last night. Pretty tasty! I think I might prefer Angus to Jersey in terms of flavour, but more science is needed to say for sure. It was really tender, that's for sure.
We just butchered two grass-fed steers - three year old Jerseys, "rescued" from a dairy farm shortly after they were born. Three freezers full. Anyone who feels like visiting before it's all gone will be treated to brisket and rib cap.

People connected to me on FB and Instagram may have gotten the memo that we're fostering a litter of four puppies for the next ten days or so. It's exhausting but rewarding, and probably something the kids will remember for awhile. Eleanor wants to adopt one of course.
This is happening on Saturday! I'm really excited. It's the biggest show we've ever booked in terms of financial risk. As ticket sales sit now, we're set to lose money, but I only turn 40 once, soooo...
I'll keep you posted. Seems pretty unlikely that I'll make it, for a few reasons. But it's a long weekend in Canada, and the train makes transportation easy.
