  1. Fuck, Jacob, that sucks. Sorry man.
  2. Sounds like a fun crew to ride with. Me: went shopping for a new wood stove for the second day in a row. The front-runnner, a Regency F2400: The prettier, much more expensive, potentially higher WAF but more demanding in terms of maintenance runner-up, a Hearthstone Heritage: or perhaps a slightly bigger version of either one. Our current main heater is 20 years old, and it turned out not to be very good at heating the house, due to a too-small firebox and general inefficiency.
  3. Glad I'm not the only one.
  4. I saw an excellent folk metal show in Winnipeg last night. Eluveitie headlined, with Wintersun opening. Both bands were incredible. They're on their way east through the great lakes area to New York before heading back to Europe, so if you're in their path and you like heavy music, I recommend checking it out. Today I went to a head-fi meet, and decided my HD600 is just as damn good to my ears as the LCD-2 and HE-6 that were also in attendance.
  5. Great news, CJ - congrats! Hilarious, Wayne. That took some guts.
  6. Happy birthday!
  7. Happy birthday Tom!
  8. Dang, sorry to hear that Jacob. Maybe it's just the devil I know, but unless things worsen, I wouldn't trade my brain condition for migraines.
  9. I keep reading that that is a myth, and that as long as you handle them frequently from 12 days old onwards, they will be friendly to people. I'm hoping not to have to hand feed them, as that is a real PITA. We're going to give them away to friends and family when they're ~10 weeks old.
  10. They look like this. Our birds are very protective of their offspring, and they aren't really letting us in to clean the cage right now, so imagine that one above in a dirty (ie. shitty) cage if you want to know what ours look like. They're about a teaspoon in size when they first emerge.
  11. I poured hot water on the car to melt off some of the >1/8" coating of ice that had accumulated from the weekend's freezing rain, and was able to drive it to work. Yeesh. And, last night, the second of four eggs hatched in our cockatiel cage. I'd like to say the babies are cute, but in reality, there are few things quite so ugly as baby parrots.
  12. Hippity burpity!
  13. So far, the 2012/2013 flu season is not my friend.

  14. Happy birthday!!
  15. I drove to the big city with the family today. That's right, Winnipeg, Manitoba. I'm meeting up with a head-fi buddy on Sunday, at which point I will audition the he-6 and lcd-2, both for the first time. This excites me.
  16. Happy birthday!
  17. Hilarious reviews of Denon ethernet cable.
  18. Happy American Thanksgiving, you Americans you.
  19. Congrats, Crappy! Good luck, Jacob!
  20. HBD, JP#s!
  21. Nice bike! Happy belated seems a bit of an understatement.
  22. Oooo oooo aaah aaah. Happy birthday, Dinny!
  23. Sorry to hear that, Vicki. May your healing be swift. Ken, It might not hurt to give the penetrating oil a try. Its attraction for crevasses should be able to overcome gravity to some extent. Failing that, I agree with Carl re: oscillating saw, and look forward to hearing more about the car.
  24. I'm really enjoying this right now.
  25. 8" fresh here. We got spoiled the last few years with really mild falls. This one has been more average. I think I'm going to dust off my x-c ski gear soon.
