This is a breadmaker recipe, but we make it without the breadmaker. The large size will do two small loaves. It's very tasty as a dessert bread. Bake at 350.

Just finished Parasite by Mira Grant. Now counting down the days till the next book in the series is released. Not till November. Bollix.

Happy Father's Day to us! I was taken out to a brunch buffet this morning. It was pretty tasty.

The pack just got sprayed by a skunk, so I took them for a swim. I recently read that skunk meat tastes very good, obviously after removing the scent glands.

My HD600 smells like back bacon. I bet it used to belong to William Shatner. Taking offers.

The bands I play in seem to enjoy covering Talking Heads songs, including that one. So good.

Squee! Jack, have you read The Magicians by Lev Grossman? If not, it should restore your faith in the fantasy genre. It's basically a mashup of/homage to JK Rowling and CS Lewis, but way cooler and with drugs and sex. Book three of the series comes out this summer.

Looks delish! Today I shot one of the red squirrels that has been eating from my mom's bird feeder. Two feet away with a pellet gun - call me Hawkeye. It coulda used some BBQ sauce, but the meat was tasty.

Point awarded to Steve. Facebook makes me stupid sometimes, and I often pick fights with people I should just un-follow instead. A family member or close friend spewing ignorance/hate is most definitely worth fighting though. It's awesome that others in your family have your back.

Saw two concerts in the last week: We invested in the PaganFest show with an established Winnipeg promoter, and while we didn't make any money, we didn't lose much, I don't think (final numbers still to be crunched). In any event, it was a blast. Turisas were just amazing, and I predict good things from Winterhymn as they mature. They're probably the first folk metal band I've heard from this side of the Atlantic that has the right idea (IMO of course). And just last night, I saw this: I'm not an Iced Earth fan, so I didn't stay for them (had to drive 3 hours to get to work this morning, and sleep was a priority). ReVamp were very impressive, though it always bugs me when metal bands rely heavily on ProTools for their live shows. You've got a five-piece band behind you - why not get a few of them to harmonize with you? Sabaton were stupendous, but again, since their keyboardist left, they haven't gotten further than replacing him with a computer. All in all, a great show, except for one other thing that pissed me off: when you get Iced Earth sharing a bill with Sabaton, apparently you get Nazis at the show. What the fuck?
