  1. There are a few Ikea hackers making spherical-ish speakers out of bowls. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJVOJk3F2r0
  2. Just finished How Green This Land, How Blue This Sea. It's set after the Newsflesh trilogy, and it's very good.
  3. Have a great day, Dan!
  4. Happy birthday, Al!
  5. Eat, drink, and be metal for one more year.
  6. May it be a great one!
  7. I really liked that one. Currently waiting for One Salt Sea to become available at the library. October Daye is an outstanding series. I just finished this, and I highly recommend it: I guess I'll start on another Mira Grant novella while I wait for my Seanan McGuire book.
  8. Happy birthday!
  9. The Live Music Archive is pretty huge, if you're into this kind of thing.
  10. Happy birthday Ed!
  11. Jeebus.
  12. Happy birthday!
  13. Have a great birthday, Jeff!
  14. Blood clot is ruled out now On the whole, it was a lovely vacation, in spite of ill health and other various hassles. And it was great to meet up with some of the SoFla crew, however briefly.
  15. Best of luck, Nate. I'm celebrating my return to Canada by partaking of our healthcare system. I have a mysteriously sore leg after flying home and need to rule out a DVT. ER last night, ultrasound and follow-up consult today. Hourah!
  16. Good luck everyone!
  17. Happy birthday, Mike!
  18. We have no In n Out, at least in western Canada. This country is vast though, and I know not what wonders may exist east of Winnipeg.
  19. We used to have K Mart, but not anymore. We still have Hudson Bay Company, which is pretty excellent, though for awhile it was owned by an American company - not sure if it still is. Tim Hortons used to be okay, but around the turn of the millenium they stopped making doughnuts in-house and now they ship them in from a central facility. The coffee is nasty, too, which is why most people order double-doubles (two milks, two sugars - do you call it that in the USA?). The only reason they're so popular in Canada is that they've somehow convinced everyone that it's the only patriotic Canadian place to get coffee.
  20. Target moved into Canada just a few years ago, and they never got traction. They weren't as cheap as the US stores, and their stores were never as well-stocked as walmart, so people just kept shopping at walmart.
  21. Not headphone-specific industry news, but Sony just announced that it will shut all Sony stores in Canada.
  22. Oh, dang, how did we miss that? Happy birthday guys!
  23. CEntrance Masterclass 2504 desktop speakers on Massdrop for $149.
  24. Happy birthday Knucks!
