Whoa. When you're ready for similar but with lethal voltage, you have a standing invite to visit my folks' house. Me: two orphan calves (we call them the jersey boys) escaped their pen today and we had no idea where they were. My dogs once again justified the expense of their feeding and vet care by finding the calves after dark. They were headed for trouble had they not been found.
There's a small chance that Eleanor and Alaric will be passing through Yellowstone in four days or so. Maybe Esme would be up for a play date? I'll let you know if it happens. Have fun regardless!
I've been interested in building a pair lately. Pass' sonotube woofer idea might be an easy way to flesh out the basses if I knew how to design the crossover.
We have a set of Peltors, which our kids did use sometimes. The kids are now big enough for adult earmuffs, and when we take them to concerts they use the same ones I use when chainsawing or cutting the lawn.
Someone may have to take away my High Roller status, but I just use a thick hair elastic double-wrapped around my most essential cards and cash. Fits great in my front pocket. Downside is that cash is visible when I'm carrying it, though I could alter that pretty easily. (This card is depleted to within a few Canadian cents of zero, in case any random HC lurker is thinking of doing something silly with the CC number).
I've been to the Telluride Bluegrass Festival a few times, and that area is gorgeous. Skiing and hiking opportunities abound, gold mining history, cool shops, bars, restaurants, and the library is beautiful. You might even be able to help Tom Cruise do his taxes in you move there.
We have two Honeywell HEPA filters, and Eleanor (who has allergies and asthma) claims they work well. I notice they're good at removing odours. Like John said, they're a bit loud when operating at full bore, which is good when my kids are trying to sleep but not so good in the daytime when I want to listen to music.
I didn't need that last beer at the metal concert last night. Currently killing a hangover with breakfast at a dimly lit diner. Seems to be working, but it will be bright when I go outside.
Looking bettter all the time! I love the spectrum scheme. One thing I used to use sometimes was the "preview post" button. Any chance of getting it back? Also, if you're working on smileys, Colin and I would use this one: or this:
On the diy side of things, I've been thinking about a BIB design for my living room, because a ) easy build, b ) good in corners, c ) tall but small footprint. Disadvantage might be that many designs are open at the top, which would allow my birds to deposit filth into them.
