Trying to see if the North Star will beat out the Plinius? On topic: Arcam FMJ CD36

This was the first reason why I just sold my O2 mkIs The second reason. I was always going to lust after the BHSE which I would never be able to justify buying. (No I have not heard one nor did I ever plan to for this reason.) I've spent a little time writing up my HD800/Zana Deux experience but haven't posted because Elephas you've actually captured 99% of my impressions. The O2 is very detailed and precise but sounded distant. The soundstage of the HD800/ZD beat out the O2/717 for me. I have only really experienced the bright treble of the HD800s on a couple of recordings so I think the music/recording matters there. Add all this up with how the HD800 fit and it was a no brainer for me.

They look like PCB "fixes" to me.

A couple of things: 1) He needs to check and make sure headsets/headphones are allowed to be worn in the race. 2) If they are, he better be prepared to tape over the ear buds to keep them in his ears if he expects them to stay in due to sweat and head movement. I don't ride with headphones due to crazy drivers and comment #2 so I'll refrain from any recommendations.

No, only $310. To buy the board myself would have been $600-700 from a reputable parts house (I didn't check on eBay). I'm just happy to have my computer back. I'll buy Applecare before my warranty runs out next time for sure. -

I was in a hurry to get it fixed Anyone know how to not to lose my applications on my iPhone when I sync with iTunes for the first time? I had most of my music backed up just not my apps. I only have a few I paid for so that's all I'm worried about. -

Got my Macbook Pro back today. As expected they replaced the logic board. They also conveniently formated my hard drive Although this is mostly my fault since it has been way too long since I backed up computer. Oh well, I got is fixed for fairly cheap and the turn around time wasn't bad. -
No shit. I just checked flights and for $1250 I could be knocking on his door Tuesday night

That's good to know. The genius at the store tried some sort of Nvidia test when I was there. Of course it didn't work but now I know why he tried it. -
Thanks and I will. I guess I should also add to the thread: Stax O2 mkI Stax 717 I need to start selling some gear...

Just got back from the store. No luck on the back-dating Applecare. They do have a repair service called "Apple Depot" now. They charge a flat rate $310 + tax. The genius said I could send it to official Apple repair and they would charge me whatever the cost is, i.e. ~$700 for a new logic board. Once I get it back (TAT 1 week) I will have a 90 day warranty on the parts. Makes me wonder how they make money doing this, unless they get poor suckers out of warranty to send in a laptop with bad RAM Oh well, I got out for less than the price of Applecare, although that would have been a much better result. Now I'm without music for a week :'( -
So has anyone had a chance to listen to a SA-50 yet? I see MusicDirect has them in stock so I could do a 30-day trial, but $5,000 is more than I'm looking to spend. I've read a few comments on the 'gon which were positive. I need a digital input, preferably USB, but optical would be OK. I'm also thinking about the Audio Aero Capitole MKII.

I tried that today while I was at work. Looks like the logic board is probably the culprit -

No Applecare :palm: Maybe they will have mercy on me since it is only a month out of warranty?? Edit: I'm guessing yours was covered under Warranty/Applecare? -
My Macbook Pro (2.4Ghz, 2GB, factory refurb, bought May 2008 ) won't wake up out of sleep mode. The Superdrive will spin up (picture CD is still in the drive) but I can't get it to reboot. I've tried the PRAM keystroke and reseting the power management and nothing works. I've scheduled a Genius bar session at my local store on Thursday night but I was wondering if anyone on here has run into this before Right now is when it sucks to only have a computer as a source

Post a picture. Some patina might not look too bad. If you do want to polish, you might seek out some car collectors as they might have a better suggestion; 3M chrome polish, etc. On a side note when I saw the word patina in the subject it took me back... I didn't polish this patina out though.
