  1. For whatever reason my HF2's sound really good this morning, enjoying my pandora one membership
  2. hmm mine is definitely a US model with 117v marked on the back.
  3. I just noticed something weird about my 717's included power cable. It seems to not have a ground pin? Normal?
  4. I really agree with all the statements you made. The HF2 is a bit of a disappointment to me. Maybe I just don't favor the Grado sound. My friend loves my HF2's and ended up ordering a pair for himself. If Nate is correct and the HF2's start selling for $800 I'm getting rid of mine in favor of some JH13's Your description of the HD800 is spot on. My issue with them is that they make me painfully aware that I'm listening to a recording very flat and lifeless/soul less. The last straw I had with the HD800 was after I returned from the Final Fantasy Distant Worlds symphony at Benaroya Hall last week. I had some amazing seats(H) and Nobu Uematsu was sitting three rows behind me . I had a huge emotional response listening to the music at the symphony. I purchased the CD during the intermission and of course listened to it on my HD800's when I got home the next day. What a disappointment.... The HD800's do not pull me into the music at all, after listening to the whole album once I switched to the O2's to me it was like night and day. For me the O2's have a better headstage and sound more realistic even though initially they sound very closed in. The way the O2's present the headstage is really technically amazing to me each instrument really has it's own space. In contrast the HD800 sounds dry and artificially cavernous.
  5. the fuck did you expect? $40 is probably worth it, once they are gone the prices will inevitably shoot up a bit.
  6. No doubt the hd800 sounds good mine is SE. When I listen to them I can tell something is missing but I'm still trying to quantify what that is.
  7. I feel the HD800's are bit more lifeless than the OII personally.
  8. I think they are ok good for listening directly out of my zune or laptop.
  9. haven't had a problem the fart is a bit annoying though as it is really loud
  10. now I understand the Stax fart
  11. I'm not sure if I really care yet or not, depends on if they sound better than my esw9 or not.
  12. just checked my mailbox and it seems I also received a frequency graph for the squeaky pair I had, note the scale is different on my graph.....
  13. My SR-007/SRM717 combo just arrived, time to fire it up for a listen
  14. Curious are those in any order? Which ones are your favorite?
  15. :asshat:
  16. IIRC the reading materials that come with the HD800 also hint at not turning the volume up too high.
  17. Cool ting.mike, Smeggy, and I were having a conversation regarding this late lat night in chat. Wanted to verify one thing. The consensus last night was re-terminating my hd800's to speaker/banana plugs and using the speaker amplifier section of my b22 wouldn't yield any extra power to the headphones vs. the headphone jack?
  18. I remember listening to that album in my friends beat up camaro. good memories
  19. I'm really curious what you and Nick think of these.
  20. Can't wait for Dre's new album also check out "The Knux" I mentioned them in my previous post but they have an outkast type vibe/style.
  21. Sent payment for this set this morning: Hope to get them next week!
  22. Anybody listen to Kamelot? I really liked "the black halo" album but haven't found too much like it other than older stuff like X-Japan.
  23. I liked the older 90's rap back when there was a rivalry, very passionate lyrics and music. The large majority of recent stuff isn't to my taste. I did recently discover a group called "The Knux" and I like their album.
