Kate Micucci - Songs EP This girl played Ted's love interest on Scrubs. She writes these ridiculously cute songs.

Sunny Day Real Estate - LP2 (The "Pink" Album) This is my favorite album of theirs. Most fans tend to go with Diary or How it Feels... which are both great, but I've always enjoyed this one the most.

Totally. I love that "I Kissed A Girl" song that she does. )

I like the way the sides look with those parallel bars. That's something I don't think I've seen on an amp before. Am I the only one that doesn't like when volume knobs are on the left hand side and headphone jacks are on the right? That always bothers me a little. It's not a deal breaker (I'd happily take the Wheatfield HA-2), but I much prefer it the other way.

Various Artists - Dark Was the Night

Ted Leo & the Pharmacists - The Tyranny of Distance He kind of lost it with the last one Living with the Living. But this album and Hearts of Oak are both really good. I hope he gets it back for his next release, but I'm pretty sure he will never top this.

For anyone that missed her appearance on The Tonight Show (hopefully it doesn't get taken down by NBC/Universal): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14I3y-mTUTU Also this is pretty funny. "People Got a Lotta Nerve" is a download-able song for Rock Band: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ia1oRs-r1zw Hahah. I'm rocking that next time we have a party.

...And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead - The Century of Self When are they going to come back already? Her kid(s) must be in college by now.

Nice. I'm listening to his 2005 album Multiply now: The end of the title track ("People on the street...") is so rad. Towards the end he really sounds like Otis ("So tired, so tired...). Who knew a white guy from the UK could sound so much like a black guy from the south? Dude even says "hang out with audiophiles" on the next track "When I Come Around". He also works with Feist and her writing partners Mocky and Gonzalez. He kicks so much ass.

Jamie Lidell - Jim Are there any fans of his here? I'm not really into the new British soul movement of artists like Adele, Duffy, Amy Winehouse, James Morrison or neo-soul like D'Angelo, John Legend, etc. But I think this guy fucking rocks. He can sing like a mini Otis Redding and his stuff sounds really authentic 60's/70's soul.

Definitely. I apologize for sidetracking. I have to be honest and say I was preparing for a letdown because how do you follow Fox Confessor? But she did an amazing job on this. I'm really pleased with how it came out. She writes such great melodies, which I'm guessing is a requirement if you're going to hang around AC Newman and Dan Bejar. The lyrics are also very strong, and of course her voice is amazing. Don't have a favorite track on this one quite yet. My favorite on Fox Confessor was "Star Witness".

Starting up on acousic guitar - brand recommendations?
Mark527 replied to Aura's topic in Miscellaneous
There's a $300 and under budget acoustic guitar thread here that may be of some help: UG Community @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com - OFFICIAL "What guitar under $300" Thread The Yamaha FG730S is mentioned there and it's pretty nice. I like the Seagull S6 and the Takamine GS330S in that price range as well. If your budget is $400, then you can actually afford an entry level Martin DXM. But like with audio gear, buying used may be your best bet if you want to get the most for your buck. You want to make sure you get a solid top for sure. I say bring your friend or someone else that plays to a store and play every one in your price range. -
What was so "Head-Fi" about that? I heard them at a meet out of a Millet tube amp and didn't like them. What, because I didn't own them for a long period of time I can't form an opinion about those headphones? The "fart cannon" thing was a joke, but they are boomy/overly bassy. Are they not? I'm not the first one to think that. Anyway, just wanted to post the Middle Cyclone review and threw in the comment because she was wearing Beyers in one of the pics in the video.

Noted. Do not talk crap about Dusty's favorite headphones the DT770's.

I was just exaggerating. I've actually only heard them once briefly, but I immediately knew they weren't for me.
