I think the Tritons might have that feature. I've not used one so I don't know how well it works.

Can't speak to either of those, but I would look for one with built in micro adjustment. And perhaps for something even smaller (1.5HP) since weight is a factor.

The chair looks great! I don't think there is a thickness that won't warp, but using quartersawn wood of any thickness will help a lot.
