  1. Hey, I remember Chaka! Grew up watching that show. What the hell is he, though? The missing link? Perhaps a good morphologist is needed?
  2. Wow, Jim! Really nice iPad2, engraving and case! Certainly worth the wait!
  3. Awesome! My parents immigrated from the Philippines and became citizens in the mid 1970's. I still remember attending their swearing in as a kid (or whatever it's called when they were finally accepted and went to court). It was a pretty long process even then, and I heard it's even tougher now. But I think it usually goes through if you just jump through all the hoops.
  4. Incredible stories of your thoughts and activities on that day, everyone! Grawk, I wouldn't say you were dumb for not wearing a respirator that day. Most people did the same, especially the heroic people, and really, how often does a giant building have an aircraft flown into it, so that you would know what to do in a situation like that.
  5. Yeah, I'm sure we tried to take him alive, and realized it's 'take him out now or risk missing a chance now'. I believe we've been close in the past and he got away. I read it's a Muslim requirement to be buried within 24 hours and we wanted to respect that. Also, we didn't want a burial site where followers could honor him. We had 10 years to plan for what to do if we ever caught or killed him, I hope and figure they thought this through pretty well. x2 on Pakistan. Sure makes you wonder who and how much the govt there knew. A big, well guarded compound? No one there knew? I doubt that. Big politics regarding Pakistan relations to be dealt with there. Being gracious and thanking them for their help, acknowledging all the fighting that's occurred on their land, while at the same time saying, 'hey, guys, an hour from your capital in a big, well guarded compound? And no one there knew?' Does everyone remember what they were doing that morning of Sep 11, 2001? I was driving to work at the time. I was living in the north side of Chicago at the time, driving toward the city. First I thought how horrible it was. Then I thought, damn, I wonder if the John Hancock or Sears Tower that I can see right now are targets? I'll be driving pretty close to each, do I need to avoid driving near them? Finally, thank you US Military, especially the SEALS. A great achievement. I can only imagine the battle that took place last night. Wow.
  6. Wow. Need details... Not much out there yet.
  7. Yep, Pee Wee's worth a ton more since his imprisonment. Just kidding. Actually, Serenity on HD DVD is worth oh, about $150. But you can have it for only $100. HC discount.
  8. 'the engineering-driven company is known for its high-end audio products' It is??? Would have been funny if it said, 'the marketing-driven company is known for its high-priced audio products.'
  9. I think I actually have Serenity on HD DVD. Me: Pee Wee's Big Adventure. Saw it at the library and had to show it to my kids. Plus I wanted to see it again.
  10. Doug, do you have ATT Uverse by you? I've had a much better experience with them than I ever did with regular old ATT.
  11. Nice, you guys! Wish I was in line with you!
  12. Five Guys. Oooh, baby. This is what happens when Mom goes out of town and leaves Dad in charge. I'm thinking chocolate cake for breakfast tomorrow.
  13. Congrats. Probably a pretty big difference in handling, eh? Did you check the tread on all four tires?
  14. Blech. I had water in my office twice last year and that was bad enough. In my house would be just awful. Sorry to hear, it Al! I've had my periods of hating AT+T, but this go 'round with U-Verse has been really good. I only use them for HS internet and phone, though, not TV. I've heard awful things about Comcast, though. Mostly with customer service and weird billing issues. Like sudden increases and weird charges appearing, then no one will answer the phone when you call to ask about it.
  15. Hello high end alcohol cognoscenti -- my wife is in New Orleans and just asked me if I wanted her to 'bring back anything specific from New Orleans, but nothing with tits' (her words). I'm thinking there must be some nice booze down there that might be hard to obtain elsewhere. Any suggestions?
  16. Sounds hard to remember! Did you write it down store it under your keyboard and stickied on all your monitors at work? Just kidding. But you must have stored it somewhere. Like on your computer's contact list, or clipboard when you copy and paste it. Or phone. Where a bot could scan it and transmit it to its maker. Although with that 3 deck poker memory of yours, maybe you just remember it.
  17. rrrcraoaahrac! And btw, now that I'm home, the other NSAID is Zubrin, apparently a dog only medication.
  18. I signed up for Mint but never really found the information it gave me all that useful. Now, we are fortunate to have felt like we had our finances under control for years before I gave Mint a try, so maybe that is why. I suppose if you were lost and had no clue where you were spending or saving, it could be pretty useful. And the price is certainly right, so it wouldn't hurt to try it out and see if it's helpful. Unless of course there is a security breach and someone gets access to all your passwords. I've used Quicken for many years and that really helped me. It's not perfect, and they force you to update your software every few years, even though it does nothing that differently with each update. But there's always ways to find cheap software. There might be better out there now, I'm not sure. I've never tried Money or any of the others, but I haven't felt a strong need to try anything else out.
  19. A local pub I sometimes frequent abruptly dropped all GI beers because of the Anheuser sale. Didn't ask for their reasons, but wonder if the distribution of GI beers to other pubs was affected. Or concern for quality? I'll have to ask them next time I'm there.
  20. rhhuao oowhanro ahww acwo rcwocakwooaaoc aoacwosc. ooaoacworcohahcwo ahao'c aoacwo cacoohowoan rawhwa ra rqhuahoaor aooocc waooohwh aoacwo caoraahrcc. So THAT'S why he checked Ollie's kidney functioning labs first. Guess I better push the fluids, I'd hate to have a glass jawed AND weak kidneyed pug.
  21. From akc web site: 'A medium-sized breed, he has an aristocratic bearing and can be solid liver or liver and white in color.' You seem to have a solid liver. Maybe you can adopt me after I undergo my transformation.
  22. What breed would you want to be? I think I'd want to be a Bernese Mountain dog. http://www.akc.org/breeds/bernese_mountain_dog/ 'A hardy dog that thrives in cold weather, the "Berner’s" intelligence, strength and agility helped him perform the drafting and droving work in the mountainous region where he originated. ' Plus, they're really pretty.
  23. You have a tail? I think you'd do all those things. Also, snort, pant for no particular reason, breath really heavily, snore at night, and develop a bad case of coprophagia.
  24. Toradol and some other puggy NSAID that I can't remember. Want some?
  25. Do you have another computer at home on the same network that might be compromised? Maybe your Mom got something on that computer when she came home and it's infected other computers across your network whenever they log on to that network?
