One of my faves!

Good thing for wikipedia! Are you part Inuit, or is it from all those darn books you keep reading?! I should really read a book some time ...

That Dragon roll is my favorite. It often keeps me from trying new things, though. The squid was a bit spicy, I think it had chili oil drizzled on it. It was nice for the price, but I wouldn't order it. I may as well have, I know just as much of that as I do Chinese. Would've been funny if I did, then without pause, she responded back in Inuktitut and we had a long conversation about ice fishing or seal hunting. It'd be like a scene right out of 'Airplane'! Nice knife work, btw. I never really paid attention or gave it much thought. But they really are incredibly precise and fast. Even started up a conversation about his knife, which I couldn't follow through on because I know nothing about knives, plus he didn't speak much English. I didn't try Inuktitut.

Squid something freebie Nice, but the Chinese waitress keeps trying to speak to me in Chinese.

At my local sushi place for lunch, asked for a seat at the bar to watch the knife skills. Oh yes, will also have some sushi. Dragon roll, then salmon, tuna, and yellow tail. Jim, that looks great!

Synology Inc. - NEW NAS Experience - Products :: DiskStation DS211j and 2 Samsung 1 TB HDs Seems to do everything I wanted at a pretty nice price, and great customer reviews. Running the setup wizard and full disk check now. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I LOVE foie gras. It was made illegal to sell in Chicago for a time. Until every restaurant that cared, gave it away for free, then charged $15 or whatever for the side of whatever that it came with. Pretty funny. Don't mess with people's foie gras, dammit!

Jeebus, that dinner sounds good! I'm hungry all over again!

Details of dinner, if you don't mind?

Survived helping host party number three in three days, this one being all my in laws - that's 5 adults and 6 kids (age 8 months to 12 years) in addition to us two and our two kids. This was after hosting a guest family who had three kids (5 months to 7 years) overnight for New Years Eve, and the double birthday Friday in the daytime (number of kids=~infinity) for the Gotchas. I'm just exhausted in every way. I have to say that Anne made a terrific dinner for New Year's Eve - salad was a walnut and Stilton dressed wedge of iceberg with homemade vinaigrette, rosemary and thyme roasted beef tenderloin with a tomato Madeira confit, garlic smashed potatoes, then for dessert, a Bavarian cream with a fresh squeezed tangerine sauce and topped with candied tangerine rind. I think it's the best meal she's ever cooked! So Anne's settling in with some movie off Netflix streaming (new for us for Christmas), I've donned the cans, and we're both sipping some Eagle Rare. *Sigh* Feels good ... Jacob, so sorry about your Mom. That sounds just awful and exhausting. Jim, good luck with getting tenure! Congrats to the rowing crew! I haven't done much exercise at all over the holidays, great job all!

Cool. But boy, we've come a long way! -
Happy Birthday, homey! Thanks for a great hangout!

Spent last night getting ready for the big weekend - double birthday party today for the kids (actual bdays 12-31 for Maya and 12-26 for Daniel, both 6 now), then having friends over for dinner and overnight for New Year's, then Anne's family visiting tomorrow for the holidays, since we went to my family for Xmas this year. All good stuff, but pretty tiring! Here's a pic of the double brownie cake (Star Wars/Hello Kitty if it doesn't show well in the lousy Blackberry pic) Anne made for the kids, which I thought was really cute: I bet you never did anything like THAT, Mister Baker man, Spritzer! Feeling Nate's pain - also fighting a sore throat this week. Blah.

How is the Colbie Caillat? I have to admit that her voice kinda grabs my attention when she's on the radio.

Spiegelau Set of 6 Cognac glasses. Very beautiful to view, brings out the bouquet nicely, not quite as sexy to hold as the Riedel they replaced, but then I can tell already that they're not going to shatter every time I blink too hard. I like them! Thanks Reks!

^Agree. The setting is in the ballet studio, but it's not really about ballet. Really, it's more about hot lesbian action.

I could see it being too disturbing for many. I found the director's previous work, Pi, to be too disturbing (and also difficult to follow). In general, though, I find realistic war movies to be much more disturbing. Never saw Benjamin Button, maybe I should! Did you want that $10 via paypal? I don't think I can afford to pay you for your time ...

Wow, lots of equations! The intro and conclusion make sense, though. Would you say from this that a tube amp may make more sense than a tube premp? Or am I not understanding this properly? I used to preferentially choose tubes in my preamps over my amps.

Or how about some neon underneath, a cherry bomb muffler and powered shocks?
