This is just being direct and to the point.

Are you sure they were burned in properly?

Good luck, Jacob! You'll do just fine. Again, a mere formality. Grats, Bryan! Good luck on round two!

My point is not that Tyll is the one and only opinion. It's that his level of knowledge and experience is so far beyond yours, that you giving him advice such as burning in his headphones, is laughable.

Yes. Got used to it though. Had noticed it prior to the update, too. But was using Perfect Browser.

Congrats to the new 2 owners! Went to BB last night and lucky for me, they were sold out. Got to play with the demo unit, and like it a lot. Certainly smaller, lighter and faster than 1. For now, though, I'm with Jim. Updated to iOS 4.3, I'm good for now.

I said a while ago that the new HC face looked a little slanty eyed to make fun of us Asians. I was rightfully shot down at the time as a newb. But it turns out I was right the whole time! Having a Guinness with dinner.

Probably not as flexible as a mini, but the Synology NAS I bought is able to stream music (and presumably other media, but I haven't tried) to my iPad. I did have to use the free Synology iPad app to do it, but it works pretty well. With the new iOS4.3 for iPad, which I installed last night, I may try the Synology iTunes server to see if that will stream, as well. It also appears as a server in my XBox 360 and I've played music through that. I think it will stream to anything that has the latest media standard (DLNA?).

That's really sad. Boy, the most serious ones just don't let on. Unfortunately, in my line of work I hear about this a lot. Sometimes you're not surprised at all. But just as often, you'd never have guessed, even to a trained professional. What Dinny said x 1000.

Van Winkle 12 Lot b ......... While my daughter plays Plants vs Zombies on iPad and my son plays Lego Batman on xbox 360 . Great Dad, huh?

By then, it'll be a glider that you could ride like a magic carpet.

Well, that's definitely faster, then ... But wait, weren't you looking to buy an old used iPad? You iPad 2 shill ...

Damn, Al. Sorry to hear that. I'm hearing all sorts of stories about teachers here in Chicagoland, apparently the worst market for teachers in decades, maybe ever. We have a friend who wasn't happy being a lawyer (apparently loved studying law, but not so much the practice of it), so with great trepidation, she finally decided to go back to school. She retrained to be a grade school teacher, became very happy and certain of her decision, and when she graduated last summer ... no jobs. She was told by her student teaching position that they loved her and wanted her there, but there literally are no openings. She's grateful that she has a solid job that she doesn't hate as a lawyer, but she really felt she'd have been more fulfilled as a grade school teacher, so she's been biding her time waiting for openings, but it hasn't happened yet.

I could use more speed when I'm buzzing through my contacts and trying to schedule appointments on the calendar. But I think I'll wait and see how much faster it really is.

iPad compatible USB HD. Not something I'd use, but looks really interesting if you carry a lot of movies or transfer files often. http://www.hypershop.com/HyperDrive-iPad-Hard-Drive-s/183.htm http://www.pitchengine.com/hyperdrive---the-worlds-first-and-only-ipad-hard-drive/85829/

This makes me sad. I was just about to place a big order today. I'll add a bottle with your name on it. It'll be Christmas in March!

This. It's funny to read him suggest ways to help Tyll learn how to better appreciate a set of headphones. And also one of the ways he is talking smack without even realizing it. Both funny and pathetic, at the same time. Funthetic!

Jeebus! Nice collection of whiskey! And that was a few years ago? What does it look like now?

Everyone has to be a newb at some point. Not everyone makes himself a foe as you have done to yourself. I was a newb not too long ago. I didn't get this place at first, but I didn't talk smack to a group of people I didn't know. Would you do that in real life? If you did, you'd get a whooping. You're getting a whooping because you asked for a whooping. I am really seeing the difference now between those who get it and those who don't. And appreciate how this place has been able to remain clean and interesting. It's actually pretty funny now to read your responses to Reks and to Tyll, now that I know them a bit!

Blech, sorry to hear it! My whole family was sick the last few days, except for me. My throat is kind of scratchy this AM ...
