  1. I was planning to do the same (stick to the components). I'll probably do this once my 2011 MBP starts driving me crazy. I don't use PS so it isn't too bad.
  2. So you're doing a Hackintosh? I'm curious how it goes - I've been thinking of building one for a while.
  3. PJ Harvey - Let England Shake I love this album!
  4. Very nice Mike!
  5. Holy shit (and yay)!
  6. What is your price range? What about something like the Outlaw Audio Model 975 (not that I have heard it or know much about it). Of course, it does a lot more than you need. http://www.outlawaudio.com/products/975.html http://www.outlawaudio.com/products/975_gallery2.html Edit: I missed the part about the wireless headphones, I don't know how one would hook those up.
  7. Just finished OITNBS2!!! So good but so sad I have to wait another year for S3.
  8. I don't trust chiropractors. Most of my upper body pains stem from my bicep tendonitis (and probably poor posture).
  9. Woke up with a horrible stiff neck (along with my normal pains - hip, bicep tendonitis, trigger pints in the upper back). I am so fucking tired of having injuries.
  10. Cambozola Black Label (brie style blue)
  11. Steak from the Latin restaurant down the street.
  12. Happy Birthday guys!!!
  13. No, I didn't know about those.
  14. As for post-processing, I started learning Aperture 3 a while back and own a copy of Lightroom 3 but never really learned how to use it. Aperture and it's file system seemed more intuitive for me (and I liked that it could share a library with iphoto). Since Apple is dumping Aperture, should upgrade to Lightroom 5 and start learning how to use it or do you think the new "photos" will be decent? Is there anything else out there to consider besides LR for basic post-processing?
  15. You can still tell me to get it since I can always send the Ricoh back but I'm still not going to listen to you. The RX1 does seem pretty awesome though!!!
  16. Chronic pain/injuries suck. Sorry CJ.
  17. Done! I decided to just do it and send it back if I don't like it (instead of endlessly reading reviews).

    ^This!!!
  19. That is too bad. I guess I better stop sharing the 30yr (with non-HCers). The 40yr is available. http://www.binnys.com/spirits/Black_Bull_40_Year_Old_Deluxe_Blended_Scotch_Whisky_160594.html I saw the Kyloe a week ago but didn't know much about it. I'll probably buy another 12yr before they sell out again.
  20. Thanks Ari! The straight out of camera pics do seem a little softer with less pop but are by no means horrible (as some on other sites have implied). I read that the straight out of camera B&W are supposed to be very nice. I am not against doing post processing but usually don't (and I am not very good at it - it is probably about time to get a book, and sit down and learn the basics). I have been reading about the "snap focus" feature of the Ricoh and it seems pretty awesome. Right now I am leaning towards the Ricoh GR but I think I'll wait a few days before buying... or not.
  21. Good luck with the move Stretch! Today was the first day of my year long sabbatical (thanks to Rice and a fellowship from the Simon Foundation)! Unfortunately, I didn't get as much research done as I would have liked.
  22. Happy Birthday Greg!!!
  23. Woohoo!
  24. Yep, totally fucked.
