My parents had the painters working today and the dog got out and got into a fight with the cat. I finally caught him and carried him back home (he is a small dog) not even thinking about the chance of the cat having rabies until after cleaning him up. Now I am trying to decide whether I should go to the ER to try and get shots. It's not clear that they would give them to me since I didn't have any bites or scratches (I didn't have any contact with the cat and don't think I put my hands in my mouth/eyes before washing them). I did wear my clothes that touched the dog for a while before washing them. I tried to see if I could find the owner of the cat and it seems that the only person with cats is a crazy cat lady with ~25 cats (some of which might be stray) according to the neighbors. Seems unlikely that the cat lady has all the cats vaccinated. I am guessing it is really unlikely that I have rabies so I am probably going to wait until I'm in Houston and see my doctor on Friday. I think as long as you don't have symptoms, the shots can be effective. I really don't need this. This is my last night here, my mom is upset about my brother, and I don't have time to be dealing with this.

Thanks Ric. Also, he is going to connect two displays. I am thinking that using one thunderbolt port for the 1st moniror and the hdmi port for the 2nd monitor (with the appropriate adapters). This would keep open the other thunderbolt port for a thunderbolt to ethernet adapter. Is there any downside to using the HDMI port over the thunderbolt port? I would play around with it but I don't why to buy a bunch of extra adapters that we don't need.

Tim is getting a new MBP 13". The new ones have a different power adapter (Magsafe 2). He needs an extra one to use in the office. Has anyone use the Magsafe to Magsafe 2 adapters? Do they work well or should he buy an extra power adapter?

I hadn't noticed that skylab had written that.

Thanks for the comparison Todd.

Oooh, I forgot about the Neko DAC. I did like that one and would be very interested how it compares.
-
I'm not interested in the Matrix X-Saber Dac. I measured and do have room for the Oppo.
-
The problem is that I don't have the room for a full size DAC in my office.
-
Tyll, Do you think it is worth it just to use as a DAC with the DSHA-1? I'm currently using the Pico DAC + DSHA-1 in the office.

The blackest of black. I'm leaving tomorrow morning to go to my parents' house so I probably won't have much time to listen before I get back.

That would be nice!

^That sucks. It is an awesome amp. Glad I never sold mine.

That might work.

It looks like a lot from the picture but it's only about 1/4" from the top.

Took some time out of the madness to set up the BHSE. Do you think the tube on the Peak is too close to the top rack? I don't remember it getting all the hot. I could move the Mini and put the PS and amp side by side.
-
BH is here! I assume I don't have to bias the amp to use the stock tubes, right? Edit: OK, I guess since I don't know which tubes were in which socket, I guess I will have to re-bias the amp. http://www.head-fi.org/products/headamp-blue-hawaii-se-electrostatic-amp Also, is the trimpot adjustment tool supposed to be in the box? I missed it. Can I just use a very small flathead screwdriver? Another stupid head-fi-like question: Can I listen to music on it while letting it warm up for an hour to do the second round of rebiasing?

My team is losing 68 to 213 but I still have one player left to play tonight so maybe I'll catch up.

What is this hockey you speak of?

You can't get that unless you have some gold teeth to go with it.

I'll try putting the ipad or a small tv on the desk and check out the glare. We usually don't have the blinds open in the office (mostly because I usually use that room at night) and the windows faces the north and is shaded by big live oaks so I don't think it would be a huge problem.
