  1. I just started to put the Salamander rack together and my hands are completely covered in dirt and grease. I feel like its going to be quite difficult to get this put together without getting grease everywhere. Not good. Thinking of sending it back and then trying to figure out what to do after that. Maybe getting a quiet fan and pointing it at the BHSE when it's on. Also some of the paint is also getting stripped of the rods, just putting one nut on.
  2. Yeah, but as far as I can tell everything they sell is fabric, not plastic. I did a google search but I am reluctant to buy something from a random company (some people claim that some of the products are pretty crappy) on the internet so it will take more searching. JMK displays seems pretty good though.
  3. Yes, it would be great to get something like this. I'm just not sure about a similar place in the US. I am not even sure they ship to the US. http://www.sora-shop.com/Shipping-Rates?sCoreId=3c4bd54e9beb9f59bb78589136ba739c
  4. I don't know if I'm so keen on putting a towels/pillowcover/sheet over the BHSE. It looks a bit funny. Maybe if I can find a black one. There is some white dust all over, I think it is from the cement ceilings and I don't want it to directly fall into the amp.
  5. Happy birthday Al!!! Hope you have a fantastic day friend.
  6. Any idea of how much space to leave above the BHSE?
  7. Actually, I was noticing how much dust white dusty crap* is in my apartment. I really hate it and was thinking that maybe I should get a turntable dustcover to put over the amp when not in use and put it on the top shelf. The only problem would be the giant cord protruding out the back of the amp. Anyone made a plastic/acrylic dustcover for their turntable or amp? This place has some decent prices but there is no hole for the cords. At what point can dust buildup do damage/short circuit the amp? I guess I just need to cover the holes while it isn't in use. Maybe I can find some really thin black plastic and cut out holes for the tubes to use when it is not in use. Would this cause moisture to build up inside of the amp. Maybe I should use something breathable like fabric or paper instead? What would happen to the amp if I accidentally turned it on with all the ventilation holes covered? I really don't want to move but I am really tired of the white dust all over everything (I knew about this and shouldn't have moved into this place). *I am pretty sure most of it is from the cement ceiling degrading.
  8. I just got Salamander rack with adjustable shelves delivered (5 shelves but I may only use 4 of them). How much space should I leave for the BH? I was thinking of putting the BH on the second to top shelf and leaving an extra 4-6" of space between the top of the tubes and the next shelf. Will that be sufficient? Here is my setup right now. The amount of heat from the Apex Peak is fine but I need more room between the top of the BH and the next shelf (only 3/4" right now).
  9. It's entertaining but not a must watch. Also, I didn't like the last two seasons that much. It's hard to say if you should watch it Steve. It definitely doesn't seem like Dusty's kind of show.
  10. Finished binge watching all 8 seasons of Entourage.
  11. Good point Jeff. Now that I think about it, I wonder if it was on the edge of the counter last night and fell down because of the 8am alarm I had set for this morning.
  12. Good news: I found my Fitbit. It was on the floor under the footstool, near the trashcan. Bad news: I didn't find it until after I dug through the trash and didn't find it (also accidentally spilling some trash in the kitchen floor and getting some on my arm (I had small gloves on). As you can imagine, with my anxieties, digging through the trash makes me feel a bit ill! Maybe it's good for me to have to do stuff like this every once in a while.
  13. I also found this which should be helpful. https://www.reddit.com/r/fitbit/comments/2udrg1/fitbit_lost_and_found_how_to_find_your_mia_fitbit/
  14. I did that, it did sync in the room with the trash can though. I guess I can take the trash outside and if doesn't sync, it is in the trash, right? How far do I need to take the trash? Will the balcony be far enough or does bluetooth work through glass?
  15. Well, my Charge HR was going strong but I took it off last night and now I can't find it. The only place I haven't looked is the trash which unfortunately is full and gross. I keep hoping I'll think of another place to look because I am definitely not looking wearing a watch that is in the trash. Anyone have an idea of how to figure out if it is in the trash without putting on some gloves and going through it?

    Stax L700

I don't find the 404LE to be bright sounding.

    Vacuums

Bags are better for allergies and easier than cleaning out the bagless vacuums (at least the Miele bags are very easy to change). I have a person that comes every once in a while but can't have her come every week (she used to come every week when we had a house). I need to call her up again - it's been a few weeks.

    Vacuums

Actually maybe I should get a Roomba. Any experience with these type of robot vacuums?

    Vacuums

Do you get it locally or online?

    Vacuums

Thinking about getting an upright vacuum to use on the carpets. Right now I have a canister vacuum (cheapest Miele) and it is a real pain to use (I hate pulling around the canister... it keeps getting stuck. Also the vacuum has a very small head and it is really meant for hardwood floor/rugs). I was thinking of getting the Miele Jazz but I then reading up on vacuums, Sebo vacuums seem to be better. Anyone used a Sebo vacuum before? Where would I buy one? Needs to have: HEPA filter, uses bags (not bagless) and it would be nice if it were easy to find the bags locally, upright, lots of suction.
  21. Doug: Is there a difference between this DAC and the plexi-dac that I have (which is fantastic)? They are both built around the Wolfson WM8741 I believe.
  22. Looks excellent Mike!
  23. Happy birthday Laura!!!
  24. Not quite as good as Jeff's but pretty tasty.
  25. I think I should get pizza too. Edit: Done.
