Got the Headamp KGSS in the mail from Stretch! Since this is my first electostrostatic headphone amp, I need to ask some stupid questions. Should I do or not do anything (I know not to pour water on the amp or headphones)? For example, 1. Should I start up/turn off the amp with a load (headphones plugged in) or not or does it not matter? 2. How long should the amp be on with out a load? 3. I assume I should turn down the volume when switching headphones (although since I have one pair I don't have a problem). 4. I assume it is biased at 580V and I don't need to open it up to change anything. 5. Do I need to keep stat headphones under a dust cover? Anything else? Thanks in advance for answering my newbie questions.

Many of you know that I was lucky enough to win some fine Monster Turbine Pros (only the Gold though) at CanJam. Since I cannot share the awesome sound with you, I thought I would treat you to the frequency response graph since it is quite special itself.

Sounds like a nice day Vicki. (After a long day at work doing admin stuff) I decided it was time to get back to the gym. Still cannot find my gym PK3's so I decided to use my newly won at CanJam Bass Monster Turbine Pros (I know y'all are jealous that you didn't win them). I thought to myself, how bad can they be, for gym headphones. Well, I think they will be going straight back in the box. Actually, they aren't really that bad if you like to pretend that you are at a dance club all day long.

Fitz, I am overjoyed that you decided to share this with us!!! It brings a tear to my eye (I am not joking, Steve is not the only sensitive one here). As Al said, it took a lot of courage to do what you did especially given the short amount of time that you have had to become comfortable with this. You wouldn't believe the number of years that I was confused. Congratulations!

No problem. Just wanted to be clear. I don't like to get too excited about listening to something for the first time especially with music and amps with which I am unfamiliar (my wallet cannot take it).

I listened to them first on the Isabella with some music I was not familiar with. They sounded pretty good but I was not ready to go out and buy a pair. Then, I listened to them again on the Cavalli with my own music and I was almost ready to pull out my wallet. I also listened on the Woo (but I didn't really know much of the music on that setup either). Edit: I don't think I said that I was not so impressed, think I said something like they were pretty good but that I needed to listen to them out of another amp.

I was thinking about this when you first posted in this thread. I don't know if you remember but after the last Houston meet, we were talking about kids and how you really wished you could be a father. I told you that there was still time to have a kid. I feel like a bit of a chump for saying that now but now it all makes more sense.
