  1. Not anymore.
  2. Thanks for all the support. We still don't know what is causing the fluid in her lungs. Doesn't seem to be pneumonia since her white blood cell count is normal, and she doesn't have a cough or fever. Nevertheless, they are still pumping her full of antibiotics, sigh. We did find out that it wasn't a blood clot via CAT scan. They also took an echocardiogram but didn't get the results yet. We should know more tomorrow. I spent a lot of the day pacing in the hallways of the hospital. I was supposed to go back tomorrow morning but changed my flight to Friday. Hopefully she will be home by then. Unfortunately, it means my poor husband has to spend Thanksgiving alone.
  3. Jeez Vicki, that is absolutely horrible. I am so sorry for your friend. I am sure you know what to do to help get it through it. I haven't been around very much because I have been at the hospital with my mom all day for the last two days. She had surgery on Tuesday, was sent home Wednesday and everything seemed to be ok. However, she was having trouble breathing so after talking to the doctor who did the surgery, I took her to the urgent care on Saturday morning. They found a "spot" on the chest x-ray (which I guess meant fluid in the lungs) and since she was recovering from surgery, they decided to admit her to the hospital. Yesterday they were thinking pneumonia and started her on a milliion antibiotics. Although I wasn't thrilled that she could have pneumonia, she is strong so I figured they would just pump her with the antibiotics, she'd get better and go home. Unfortunately, the new doctor today didn't like that diagnosis since my mom didn't have a fever and wasn't coughing that much. So now they have some new possibility for the fluid in the lungs, one of which is Congestive heart failure which I am *really* hoping she does not have. But until she get an Echo tomorrow and some more tests, we won't know much more. Sigh. Anyway, just thought I would check in and give you an update.
  4. Damn them! I was hoping to take a quick trip to Total Wine down near my parents' house to see if they had some Stagg but I don't think I will get a chance to do that.
  5. Phew, I was worried.
  6. No luck on the liquor cabinet. My parents don't keep booze in the house.
  7. Oops, double post - damn phone.
  8. Thanks guys!
  9. Sitting at the airport right now waiting for my flight to Cali. My mom just had surgery (she is ok but in a lot of pain and is in for a long recovery) so I am going back "home" to take care of her.
  10. Not sure and I am not going to tell you which one...
  11. Thanks guys, if you see a bottle, I would be happy to buy it off one of you.
  12. Good advice Al. I thought the Eagle Rare 17 was good but not as nice as the Weller or last year's Sazerac 18 or Handy. I guess I am going to have to search out the Stagg after all. Anyone like to ship to Texas?
  13. Ouch!
  14. Yay for Vicki on the win! Looks like it will be a 4 way tie for first this week. Maybe I will get a "decent" waiver spot for once.
  15. ^Oooh, nice!
  16. Wow Nate, that looks beautiful. I want to go to Hawaii.
  17. Holy shite, I thought I had the game wrapped up! Now I really wish I would have played Thomas, Jones or Cassel.
  18. Oh good, I have a few banana trees in the back yard - perfect gift for a monkey!
  19. Got tethering working on my Palm Pre again (been f***cked up for months now). That will keep me from going out and buying an Evo, for now.
  20. I didn't see the game but 7 points is way off for Peyton Manning!
  21. I bought my last two TVs from amazon - it was great. You can schedule a date/time windows to deliver. They will come in, set up the TV and make sure it is working before leaving. (At least this is how things were up to a year ago).
  22. Yeah, I figured that. On the other hand, I was doing a million other things at the time so it was either the bread machine or nothing. Cool!
  23. I used one of those packets of active dry yeast. The directions for the bread maker called for active dry yeast (no proofing mentioned) so I figured it didn't rise because the yeast had an "best by" date of Nov 09. Guess I haven't done much baking in a while. Do you recommend always proofing first even for a bread machine? I don't really want to use the "instant" bread machine yeast. I suppose I should make real bread in an oven. I suck at baking.
  24. Tried to make bread in the bread maker with "expired" yeast, it didn't work so well.
