  1. I do like the look of the meltdown colored drink. Agree about the Hercules, that looks awesome Marc!
  2. Are you trying to say something about my picture taking abilities.
  3. How was that Malbec Jim? Had some Crios Malbec for dinner tonight - it was quite nice. After dinner I made lots of drinks for friends: Rum Alexanders, Knickerbockers, (dirty and non-dirty) martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives, and The Liberals. Good times. Don't have any pictures of drinks but did get a picture of the owl that was hanging out in our backyard during our drinking session.
  4. How strong is the wireless signal? Any improvements?
  5. Happy Birthday Fitz!!!
  6. I do miss Tri-tip! I bet Bordeaux and Tri-Tip does not suck. Jim, that Navy Grogish drink looks tasty.
  7. I do need to try some of this.
  8. Hurray for JP, Mike, and Dan... I cannot pretend that I am not jealous.
  9. Today's drinks: Started off with FFF Behemoth - whoa, this was fucking awesome (completely agreeing with Al), seriously seriously good. Thanks Mike! Next up was an equally truly awesome red wine (2009 Orin Swift Abstract - a blend of Grenache, Petite Sirah, and Syrah) - so good. I really need to try a bottle of their "Prisoner." Lastly, an after dinner Picon Punch: 1 tsp grenadine 2 1/2 oz Torani Amer 1 oz Cerbois Armagnac San Pellegrino sparkling water (sub for soda water) Good stuff but I think I will save my Torani Amer for the Liberal.
  10. I thought he was getting in touch with his Sonny Crockett side.
  11. White? Seriously? I have kept myself from ordering the iPad 2, so far.
  12. Dusty: If you are looking for good and under $20 bottles of Malbec, I would highly recommend trying Durigutti Malbec Mendoza 2008 (even has a Dusty approved black label and black "cork") and Norton Malbec Mendoza Reserva 2007.
  13. There is so much sadness in this thread. Al: That really sucks about your wife. Nate: I am really sorry to hear about Zachary. I cannot even begin to imagine what his family is going through. Mike: I am glad you shared with us. I wish the best for you and your family. Driftwood: Sorry to hear about your loss.
  14. It is as awesome as I imagined: fast fast fast, quiet, doesn't get that hot (the fan has only turned on once but I haven't pushed it much yet), long battery (not compared to the ipad but certainly compared to my old non-unibody MBP) so I can actually use it as a laptop for the whole day, beautiful display, etc. Of course I do wish it were 1mm thick and weighed 1/8 oz but I guess I cannot get everything. I am glad I got the matte display as well. I like the look of it better than the glossy. I do wish they had a hi-res display quad core 13" <- that would be the awesomest!
  15. Water. Too much work tonight and I am already exhausted.
  16. I should have modified my proportions, the Carpano Antica kinda took over my Vieux Carre (not complaining though)... next time.
  17. You could always mix a few scotches together. Mmmm, I have all the ingredients for a Ramos Gin Fizz but only pasteurized eggs. I want to try the Redbreast in a cocktail, I am sure it would be lovely.
  18. Never had Vya. Nice drink Jim! I'll have to try some cognac in my next Sazerac. I say you choose exercise more and eat and drink the same. That is what I would choose. Of course, I haven't made so much progress on my weight loss. That rum looks good Mikey. Vieux Carre! Laissez les bon temps rouler!
  19. I totally forgot it was Fat Tuesday and made myself a Jap-a-lac (at least it has rye in it). I think a Vieux Carre is in my future. Jap-a-lac This was a quite nice and fruity drink. Not a favorite but certainly a keeper (maybe moar rye and less orange juice next time). Juice of 1/4 an orange 3/4 oz Wild Turkey Rye 3/4 oz Dolin Dry 1 tsp Monin Raspberry syrup Cheers!
  20. Good stuff Mikey! You must have a very large liquor cabinet (I hope you keep it under lock and key ).
