  1. I would eat that. My Cubano is pretty tasty though.
  2. If the cell dies, is the battery more prone to exploding/catching on fire?
  3. I am going to ship my ipad 1 to a friend with kids. What level should I have the battery before shipping (for safety) - 30% or 60% or should I discharge?
  4. What about the extra Logitech Performance MX mouse that I bought in 2011? Is that still good or should I trash it? I'd probably give it to goodwill if it is still good because I already have two of them that I use.
  5. Before I read this, I plugged in the charger to the Pico amp and it was charging it even though the battery has been probably discharged for at least a year I am guessing (it is a Lipo battery). I haven't used it in a very very long time. So you think it is ok to give away or sell the Pico, Pico Slim and other devices with the current battery. I assume that I might as well ship them discharged. Isn't is safer to ship discharged lithium batteries? Why do so many places say that fully discharging a lithium (ion or polymer) battery could damage the battery?
  6. I realized that I have a ton of portable equipment that has a lithium battery in it and that has been sitting unused for years (long before Tim passed away): Pico, Pico Slim, cell phones, cameras. How dangerous is it to charge up a battery that has been sitting around discharged for a long time (evidently you are not supposed to do this ever)? I know that lithium batteries are not as likely to leak as alkaline batteries but can be really bad if they go. What should I do with this stuff? The cell phones I can recycle but I am not sure what to do with the Pico and Pico Slim. I was going to sell them or give them away since I never use them but now I am worried about shipping something with an unsafe battery. I just gave my D90 camera away to someone but the battery has been sitting uncharged. Should I tell them to recycle the battery and get a new one? For example, this website talks about the dangers of Lipo batteries and how you should always charge them in a firesafe bag! That seems crazy but now it has gotten me worried. http://thedronegirl.com/2015/02/07/lipo-battery/ Here, it says that "Below ~2.5V/cell, most manufacturers of LiPo chargers have said that the battery is too dangerous to be recharged." http://www.instructables.com/id/Restoring-over-discharged-LiPo-Lithium-Polymer-bat/step1/Background-Cautions-Warnings/ Perhaps only Li-pos are dangerous to bring back from fully discharged and not li-ion?
  7. I have been letting the amp sit for years with the battery uncharged. I was planning to remove the battery and recycle it. It is there a reason you said to remove it with 65% capacity. I am assuming that it is ok to remove it with no charge if I am just going to recycle it and only use the Pico with power.
  8. Happy Birthday Justin!
  9. Just finished watching Orange is the New Black Season 4.
  10. Ok, maybe the small ring at the top doesn't let too much water it. I can't get it to go back into place probably because of all the gunk on it. Wouldn't it be bad if water got onto the circuit and especially on the battery?
  11. I've looked at a bunch of reviews (including thesweethome) and have also had consumer reports in the past. I just wanted opinions from people I know. Just wondering if anyone had a good or bad experience with one or the other. I have the Oral B 5000 right now so maybe I'll just stick to that. The only reason I'm replacing it is that I think water is leaking into it since it is no longer sealed at the top so I'll probably just recycle it. It's probably not great for water to be getting into electronics.
  12. I am looking to get a new electric toothbrush (my Oral b is splitting apart at the top and doesn't seem waterproof anymore). I am trying to decide between an Oral B or Sonic Care. I have sensitive teeth.
  13. I have a few cameras (Nikon D7100, Nikon D90, Ricoh GR, and Canon S95) that I haven't been using much since Tim passed and I left the batteries in the camera and the batteries drained. I read that this is a bad thing to do. Should I replace the batteries? Are they more prone to leak/explode or will the charges just not last as long.
  14. Thanks Dan, I could try that. Also, I guess I should say that I am not interested in getting any money for these but don't want to do too much work to get rid of them. Certainly Goodwill is easy but there may be something that is more worthwhile. I guess I could also try MD Anderson Cancer Center and a bunch of the other hospitals across the street.
  15. I have an old ipad 1 and phones (Google Nexus and Samsung S3) that I never use. What should I do with them? Is there a place I can donate them or should I just recycle them?

This! I may get a pair of the ER4SR. I wonder if they did anything to quiet down the cord. It's too bad they didn't make them more comfortable. I hate that the ER4 stick so far out of the ears. Ok, here is what EtyDave says about the new cable: "The cable material is different than the older model. It's a bit softer and more supple (*cough* marketing term) than the old cable so it feels nicer in the hand than the old cable. Preliminary feedback has been people feel it's slightly less microphonic. But realistically, the earphone still seals deep in the bony portion of the ear canal, which doesn't help microphonics. As before, using the shirt clip will help, as will wrapping them over the ear (which is slightly easier than before because we modified the angle of the strain relief)."
  17. I have two drives on my Mac Pro installed (one older 1TB HDD and one 128GB SDD). I plan to start using the SDD but just haven't gotten around to it (and I'll keep most older files on the HDD). I think they both have 10.8.6 on them. I was planning to do a clean install of El Capitan on the SDD before putting all my programs on it. Are these good instructions or is there something missing that I should know about. http://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/mac-software/run-el-capitan-on-hard-drive-yosemite-on-mac-3533305/
  18. Not sure but I think they are looking for something a little lighter than a really heavy 17" laptop but they won't be carrying it around all the time - they mostly work from home. They will be having it docked to a larger screen for typical use. Not sure about the media storage.
  19. I'm thinking of finally upgrading to El Capitan on my computers. Any reason not to? Main computer: iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013) Others: Macbook Air 2011, Macbook Pro 13" retina 2013?, Mac Pro 2009
  20. Thanks guys! I'll pass along these recommendations.
  21. Happy belated birthday speed racer.
  22. Damn, those are heavy (at least the quad cores are). Anything similar to Macbook Pro 15" retina in term of quality, performance, weight, and battery life (besides just Macbook Pro 15" retina + Windows on bootcamp - I already mentioned this to her)?
  23. What are the suggestions for high end 15" Windows laptops for someone who does a lot of graphics? It is for a friend of mine.
  24. Glad to hear the city council hold their ground! So sorry to hear about the protests though.
