  1. I had some (on draught) last time I was in the bay area. Definitely a tradition I plan to continue. Had some Chilean cab at dinner with the in-laws - don't remember the name but it was good. Also, picked up a few bottles of Pliny to take back with me (if they last that long).
  2. Another pic.... bad drinks but great music (except the second act which we were ready to boo off stage) and company! [ I cannot believe they don't have Pliny on tap at every bar in the city!] Tim and I had a great time Al and Claire!
  3. Gotta love Tyll! That review is full of awesome.
  4. I have an "aluminum" battery that looks like that: I ignored the "service battery" warning for a while. A few days after I took it out of the MBP, it looked like that. It is sitting in the house but hasn't gone boom yet. Perhaps I should get rid of it.
  5. Pliny the Elder on draught!!! I love the bay area.
  6. I guess there is some evidence that milk may cause heartburn for some although milk doesn't seem to bother me much on its own. If it doesn't bother you, then you are probably ok. I don't seem to have a problem with heartburn as long as I am not really stressed/worried about something and avoid spicy foods and alcohol. (Of course, that pretty much means that I suffer from heartburn pretty often since I love spicy food and have been known to have a drink every once in a while. )
  7. Actually, I think milk sorta does that... the protein and fat can create more stomach acid (but it does feel good on the esophagus temporarily). So I guess I am taking her approach (I will just have to make sure to drink a pint of milk instead of a glass).
  8. 2% milk - trying to combat the horrible heartburn I have had for the last 24 hours.
  9. I don't think any of those would work but thanks for the help. I remembered that I knew Rice's "shared secret" (from when I set up VPN on the ipad) and so I ended up fixing my problem by setting up VPN via "Network preferences" (and ditching the crappy Cisco VPN client). Now I can boot in normal (i.e. 64 bit) mode and use VPN again.
  10. Since I don't eat Chinese food, I cannot help you much there but I love Zin and pizza. You might want to look for Seghesio Zin 2009, it is supposed to be good but I haven't tried it yet. I have had some really nice Zins from Ridge so you may want to look into that. I have had some with cheesy names that were good but they all sound alike to me so I cannot remember which ones I liked and which ones I did not like.
  11. Does anyone know how I can run Cisco VPN client (in Mac OS X 10.6.7) without rebooting in 32 bit mode? I would think there would be a way I could just have CIsco VPN run in 32 bit mode while booting in 64 bit mode. Unfortunately, the "Open in 32-bit mode" box is not available in the Get Info tab for Cisco VPN Client (I have 4.9.01.0180).
  12. Please fax Sazerac Jim! Nothing now but I was lucky enough to get upgraded to first class again and so I had a Jack & Coke and red wine with my dinner (which was actually quite good) on the plane.
  13. It helps if you aren't right next to the subject I guess - also didn't use the LX5.
  14. Still not a good picture, but it is a good drink. Gin & Tonic with a dash of Passion Fruit syrup (dump in style)
  15. I lied*, I used the LX5 to take that picture. *Seems I am getting old and forgetful. I really need to get a prime lens. What FFL do you have?
  16. Went to see Shaw's Pygmalion at the theatre. I liked it.
  17. Earlier: DFH Aprihop and a wee dram of Hudson Manhattan Rye. I'll have to give it another chance but the rye was too sweet for my taste. Guess it'll be one that I save for guest or mix into drinks. I do think the bottle is pretty cute though.
  18. Unfortunately, I will be traveling to Lincoln, NE that weekend.
  19. Plymouth Gin, Plymouth Sloe Gin and a cute little bottle of Hudson Manhattan Rye* *Probably not worth $41 for a 375ml bottle but I wanted to try a new rye and I like supporting small batch distilleries.
