  1. Sorta but just with the "licking the lips" part. Having some "The Other" red blend - it's ok.
  2. Ran the first day of a 2 week long summer program (for 20 mathematically bright high school girls from the Houston area) that I have been running for the last 4 years. This is the first year that everyone was on time and everyone showed up! I really liked all the girls this year - no troublemakers so far.
  3. Cool! Jealous of all the FFF goodness. For me, a simple Manhattan (Sazerac 6yr + Carpano Antica + Cherry bitters) :howcomewedon'thavealickingthelipsyummysmilie:
  4. Happy Birthday David! Hope you get lots of coconuts.
  5. Overseas flights suck enough without road rash.
  6. Happy Father's Day to all the dads in HC town.
  7. Nice!!! How was it? ^This except I made it with slightly more Campari and sparkling water (maybe 1/2 oz each). It is a very nice drink for today considering that the heat index is still 91 degrees here right now.* *I guess I cannot complain too much I see that Austin had a high of 106 today (without heat index)!!! Luckily it only got to 98 here.
  8. This! WTF? Glad to hear about the free resourceful school for Jack!
  9. Looks like we'll have to wait til July for the new MBAs. Apple may freeze new Mac introductions until release of Mac OS X Lion
  10. If I could get some I would but unfortunately, it doesn't seem that they want Texans to drink Amaro Ciociaro.
  11. I've bought some XLR cables from heels-6 on ebay. He seems to make nice products and they are slightly cheaper than BJC. If you contact him, he will make them the length you want. Ebay link
  12. In most recipes for the Liberal, it calls for either bourbon or rye. For the sake of science, I decided to make one of each. The Liberal 3/4 oz 101 proof Wild Turkey Rye or 94 proof 17yr Vintage Bourbon 3/4 oz Carpano Antica 3 dashes of Torani Amer 1 dash of Regan's Orange bitters The result: Tie. They are both super excellent drinks and I love them both. If I had to choose one, I would go with the smoother and slightly sweeter 17yr Vintage Bourbon but if you asked me tomorrow or 20 minutes from now, I could easily change my mind. Better finish this post before I do change my mind again.
  13. Jim: "Cook" the Metaxa and cheeries together or just soak in the fridge together? 3 days minimum?
  14. Good stuff Marc! What kind of gin is that? Having a few sips of Metaxa Grande Fine before dinner. I was thinking of making some "brandied" cherries with Metaxa 7 star? What say you cocktail experts?
  15. A (small) Vieux Carre Can't decide which I like better the VC or Saratoga. Better just drink both.
  16. But he doesn't like the D40x as much so I think I am safe. Seriously though, I assume that the D40x is a decent camera and should be much better/faster than LX5 even though it is a pretty old model.
