Really? Cool. Now I just need a few thousand dollars and a bigger desk. Seriously though, wouldn't there be a limit based on your video card?

Can I daisy chain three 27" Apple cinema displays together?

Dinny: I am not saying you should get an Apple cinema display but... I always thought that the Dell Ultrasharp displays were as good as the Apple Cinema displays. (My husband has a recent 23" or 24" Dell ultrasharp at home and I have an older 20" Apple Cinema display.) However, the other day I was looking at some pictures of our trip on his monitor and they just didn't look as nice as they did on mine. I didn't really pay attention to why this was. Maybe his wasn't calibrated correctly, maybe it was the difference in size? Just sayin' that there could be a real difference. You should go look at a monitor in person (maybe hook it up to your laptop) before buying it. That said, the 27" Apple displays are pretty pricey. I wish I had one.

Should have clicked on express delivery when I ordered my MBA on Friday (I only had an option of next day shipping or free shipping when I checked out though). My MBA hasn't even shipped. Estimated delivery is Aug 2-4. I guess things could be worse.

I think this is the discussion you were referring to. and some of the replies: Updating my post: 1. Gin: I really like Bluecoat or Plymouth - I believe you have tried the Bluecoat. 2. Vermouth: Dolin Dry or Blanc for "dry" and Carpano Antica for sweet vermouth. CA is not cheap but is a liter and you could skimp by only using about 3/4 of what a drink calls for (and depending on the drink, you may prefer this). 3. Rye: Wild Turkey Rye 101 is my go to rye for "cheap." It is awesome! .... 8. Some good rum. Smith and Cross is awesome. There are lots of good rums out there. I also like Vizcaya, Ron Zacapa, Clement Rhum Agricole... 9. Tequila: I haven't tried many but El Tesoro, Casa Noble, and Don Julio are all great. There is a budget tequila thread

With dinner: 2009 Lamadrid Malbec - pretty good but not great. Now: Laphroaig 18 - great

Hilarious, Wayne! You may want to look into a wash and fold service for the future - often the prices can be quite reasonable.

Nice louching Al! So what is the verdict on the cherries Marc? Were they worth giving up your childrens' college fund? A friend of mine sent me a couple of drinks to try. Coolage Cooler 2 oz bourbon (I used Vintage 17yr) 1 oz Lillet (I substituted Cocci Americano since I didn't have any Lillet) 1/2 large lemon (I used 3/4 of a small-medium lemon) 7 dashes of Absinthe (from an Angostura bottle - since I didn't have an empty Ango bottle, I used about 1/2 tsp) 1/4 oz simple syrup or sweeten to taste Stir and serve over ice Pretty nice summer drink.

Rum & Cola + Cuba Libra Tried both drinks with the Fentimans Curiosity Cola (2:1 ratio cola to rum) and Ron Zacapa rum. They were both awesome but I think I prefer the sweeter Rum & Cola. Maybe next time I will use an 1/8 of a lime instead of a 1/4 of a lime. Cheers to Karen's grandmother.

That is what I was thinking (well possibly just a rum and cola without the lime). The real question is which rum?

Fentiman's Curiosity Cola I was surprised to find that it had a very small amount of alcohol in it (less that 0.5%). I suppose this is due to the fermented herbs. I think it is pretty awesome. Reminds me of cola with a bitters.

I think that was my first reaction too. I also had a Negroni tonight - at the movie theater watching Tree of Life. I love movie theaters with full bars. Afterwards I mixed up some drinks for myself and hubby. For hubby: Mai Tai 2 oz Clement Rhum Agricole 1/2 oz Clement Creole Shrubb 1/4 oz Monin Almond Syrup 1/4 oz simple syrup 3/4 lime This was quite tasty but not as tasty as the following! For me: Bonal and Rye Thanks for the suggestion Jim (maybe via Al?)! I really need to try this with Sazerac 18. Very nice! 2 oz Sazerac Rye 1 oz Bonal 1/2 oz Cointreau 2 dashes of Peychaud's bitters 1 dash of Angostura bitters

LOL, I'll let it pass. Actually, I cannot remember who started it but I was certainly in favor of it.

Post the last thing you bought!
I do like the Laphraoig 18! Looking forward to a not so wee dram after I finish my current drink. Haha, I was wondering if anyone would notice the open bottle. No problem there, Marc and I split a bottle.
