  1. I could tell you but I would have to bill you.
  2. I didn't think I was close either. Keeping trying and one day you will be able to do one.
  3. You clearly should have made a ham sandwich. Ouch.
  4. Today at the gym, I did my first (real, no cheating, starting from a dead hang) pullup in about 8 years. As a slightly overweight woman in her mid-30's, I was pretty happy with myself.
  5. Copying Jeff (except I made my chips from corn tortillas). Yum!
  6. The company is called "Wines than Rock." This was the 2006 Pink Floyd Cabernet edition. I had some with dinner yesterday. Was good for the price but I wouldn't run back and get a case of it. I think the problem was that I wasn't listening to the Dark Side of the Moon with it... evidently that is part of the directions. "Now pop the cork, turn up Pink Floyd & enjoy the taste of The Dark Side of the Moon." In my last taste test (before the Partida), I liked both the Casa Noble and the Avion more than Don Julio and the Partida was very close to the Avion. DJ just seemed a bit too subdued, too smooth. It is still very good and I plan to keep some around in my cabinet. The CN is clearly #1 in my book. I should do more testing.
  7. Al, that punch looks fantastic. Need some Allspice Dram and Pineapple Gum Syrup. Having some Indian Mysore Nuggets coffee. I forgot how much I like this one.
  8. Just had some Partida, and some Casa Noble, and some Avion (all anejos)... for science of course. Casa Noble is still the winner (for me) but all three are really good. I honestly cannot decide which I like better between the Avion and Partida - maybe the Partida, by a nose. Both are better than Don Julio without a doubt. Guess more experimentation is in order. Do you think I could get a grant to fund this research?
  9. Nice drinks Jim, Al and Marc! It's no fair that everyone has Gran Classico bitters but me. Earlier today I made a Bloody Mary using Jacob's "recipe". (I initially forgot the soy sauce and had to add it after the picture). I also added a bit of ground Wasabi seed and garnished with celery and two jalapeno stuffed olives. The vodka I used was Jim's recommendation (green peppercorn infused Russian Standard). I have to admit that this was the best Bloody Mary I have ever had. The Sriracha sauce is a really nice substitute for the Tabasco. Now: Springbank 12yr Cask strength!!! I am *loving* this. Thanks Mikey, you're not so mad after all. It is going to be hard not to buy the 15yr next time I end up at the local spirits store.
  10. Yeah, that is a sweet looking knife! It'll probably last longer than the booze also.
  11. That looks good except that it looks like it is made with flour tortillas instead of white corn tortillas.
  12. Played tennis this morning - I was pretty rusty but it was still fun! Oh, yeah, and it rained again this afternoon!!! Mike must have been a dancing fool today.
  13. Decided to wait on the Chinato but got a few other things. I was happy to see that my store is now carrying Bols Genever gin!
  14. Planning to buy some Chinato today. Which should I pick up? Damilano Barolo Chinato (~$55 for 500ml) or Vergano Chinator Moscato Luli (~$50 for 500ml) I think they sometimes carry the Cocchi Barolo Chinato, they must be out. I could also wait until they get that back in stock.
  15. It's been a while since this has been in rotation. Actually, have I listened to this album since getting decent listening equipment? Offspring - Smash
  16. Science says: Sipping them neat, here is my ranking. Casa Noble anejo >> Avion anejo > Don Julio anejo >> Herradura anejo > Espolon The Casa Noble is just so good. The vanilla and butterscotch flavors and sweet smell make this a really wonderful sipping tequila. Also, it is really smooth. There is no contest in my mind that this beats the others. The Don Julio and Avion are both really smooth but the Don Julio is a little too subdued. The Avion has a brightness to the flavor that is really nice. Maybe somewhere between a good anejo and reposado? I am not so familiar with reposado though. Both very nice sipping tequilas. The Herradura and Espolon both have a bit of a funny smell to them. They are both pretty peppery. The Espolon is much harsher than the Herradura. I bet it would make a fine margarita though and would probably be a great choice at <$20! (That is 20 dollars not 20 factorial dollars which would be absurd.) I wouldn't really enjoy sipping either of these though (especially the Espolon). Oh yeah, after tasting these, I really want to try the Casa Noble reposado now. That will probably be my next tequila purchase.
  17. Doing a little taste test... for science.
  18. Nope, didn't notice that. I picked it up at the little local (non-specs) store near my house so they could have been different. I went in thinking I would pick up the Partida or Avion anejo. I decided to get the Avion anejo and Espolon reposado. They guy at the store said they have been selling a lot of both brands (mostly the blanco though since they do a lot of wholesale to bars/restaurants). I found out later that the Avion was featured in "Entourage" which I guess is some popular show on tv. Hope it doesn't suck. I suppose I should try at least one of them tonight.
  19. Oooh, nice fridge! Sorry about the problems Wayne. good luck breathing. I assume you have little buildings called hospitals there?
  20. Earlier: Black Bull 12yr Now: 2007 Stag's Leap Artemis ----yum----
