  1. Waldorf #2 [Only made half the recipe.] Since it is finally fall today, thought I would make something seasonal. 2 oz Clear Creek Apple Brandy 1/2 oz Nux Alpina Walnut Liqueur 3 dashes of Fee Brothers Celery Bitters 2 slices of Honeycrisp apple Not my favorite drink - perhaps due to the celery bitters though. Will need to look for some more walnut liqueur recipes.
  2. Dreadnaught. That lunch looks excellent Al.
  3. Yep, another reason that it is so tempting. Plus, I think Todd and DannyB Pete are great guys and I am happy to support them.
  4. I was too busy eating. Don't want to let the food get cold.
  5. Congrats Cards!!! I still cannot believe they've come back to win the World Series, amazing. Cheers! [Drinking a Manhattan.]
  6. Thanks for the feedback on the PS500 Al. I may pick one up. I also want the Peak + Volcano but am hesitating to buy since I haven't heard it. I wish I would have listened to it at Canjam Chicago. The Pinnacle of course was amazing.
  7. Yay for Springbank and Dreadnaught! Having some Clear Creek "Eau de Vie de Pomme" 8 Year Old Barrel-Aged Apple Brandy This stuff is very nice (and so much better than the Doran Calvados XO). I wonder how it compare to the Germain-Robin Apple Brandy.
  8. That looks good. I just got back from having an awesome "rack of pork," butternut squash filled crepes, and malbec. It was really awesome.
  9. Yep, good job Chris and listen to Jacob.
  10. Yep, same here. Rittenhouse 25 sounds like a good drink to wash my tears away.
  11. Nice Ric! Miguel: How do you use the internet on that phone???
  12. Wow, those are some big pours Mikey! Had a G&T (St George Botanivore + Fever Tree) with dinner. Then I promptly fell asleep.
  13. Sounds like one of my Ensenda experiences. That really sucks. I hate that amazon uses these companies. By the way, were these 1-day or 2-day amazon prime purchases? How long before the cutoff deadline did you buy them? I am trying to figure out if there is a way that I can make sure that UPS delivers all my packages. I think that everytime I have had Ensenda deliver a package, I have ordered long before the cutoff time (usually over the weekend). My theory is that Ensenda is not organized enough for amazon to use them if you order at the last second. Of course, my theory is based on very little evidence so is probably wrong.
  14. Oh, I see. Still curious to try it if I can find a place to buy a single bottle. Cobble Hill 2 oz rye whiskey ½ oz dry vermouth ½ oz Amaro Montenegro 2 slices of cucumber Stir with ice and strain in to a cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon zest twist. (only made 1/2 the recipe)
  15. I saw some Fentiman's Tonic Water at the store the other day. Anyone tried one in a G&T? Sounds good but a bit pricey.
  16. Hi Fitz! I like Hendricks. That looks awesome Al. Having some Amaro Montenegro. I need to try this in a Cobble Hill.
  17. Agreed that the Liberal is a great drink but the Amer Picon (or substitutes) may be difficult to find outside of California. You could use both Torani Amer (only in Cali) or Amaro CioCiaro (found in many places I think) as a substitute for the Amer Picon. I like the Torani Amer better (although Cio Ciaro is supposed to be closer to the original Amer Picon). I did some testing and found that a 2:1 or 1:1 ratio (cannot remember) of Cio Ciaro to Regans Orange bitters was pretty close to Torani Amer but tasted better. So if you can find Amaro Cio Ciaro, I would suggest making a Liberal with that and extra orange bitters. As for the Sazerac, yes, it is an awesome drink. Drink it now, drink it often! The other drink I would recommend is the Boulevardier. I love this drink and you already have 2/3 of the ingredients. The other ingredient, Campari, is easy to find.
