  1. Chris, so sorry to hear this. Hope you are your family are coping ok.
  2. 3/2 oz Blanton's bourbon 1/4 oz Cocchi di Torino sweet vermouth 1/4 oz Punt e Mes 1 dash cherry bitters 1 dash Fee Bros Whiskey Barrel Aged bitters 2 Griottines cherries This does not suck.
  3. Close, Cal Poly SLO.
  4. Just got the Peak up and running. It was a quick setup so I just have the Tung-Sol in it now but it sounds great... clarity is right. Cannot wait to get my HD800's back this weekend. Right now I have the amp on a footstool next to my setup. With my planned setup, I will only have about 1" clearance between the 6SN7 tube and the next shelf. I assume that will be ok, the tube doesn't get too hot and there is a lot of room around it? Of course, it is not optimal for tube rolling. Edit: Guess I should have posted in the other Apex thread.
  5. Thanks Greg, I'll pick up a bottle. There are even a few grapes from the city of my Alma Mater.
  6. Peak/Volcano arrived today! Hopefully I'll get some time to set up and have a listen.
  7. Keep up the good work!
  8. Happy Birthday Chris! Ditto to what Dan said.
  9. Happy Birthday Mikey! Interested to hear what whiskey you will be bring to the party.
  10. I would be interested in getting in on the loaner program if it were still going in a couple of months. I would be interested in comparing Arete (with standard PS) to the other two SS amps I have: Headamp GS-1 and Stello HP100. I'll send an email a little later.
  11. Nice Jim!!!
  12. Good luck Jacob! Back home. I was hoping to get a chance to hop over to DC during the trip but no time. It's good to be home.
  13. By the way, if anyone finds themselves in Arlington, VA, I can wholeheartedly recommend the steaks at Ray's. They were absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. The only thing is the wait (we had a bit of a wait on a Tuesday night) and they only have wine/beer so no after dinner whiskey.
  14. ^You still get to choose the cherries.
  15. Had some Grenache/Syrah and Malbec with ribeye at Ray's the Steaks tonight which was nice but now it is back to work.
  16. Well if the MK2 dacs is going to be anything like the SR-007 stax, it will be total craps, just ask Birgir.
  17. Oooh Jim, good stuff. I am jealous of the Parker's and GR!
  18. Ugh, a loss to Bryan (League 2) by 2 points... definitely blaming Forte and his fumbles for this one! At least I got back at Haj.
  19. Now I want an Arete too.
  20. Very nice Mike-n-Al (except Mike's crappy Martini sweet vermouth - I cannot condone that).
  21. Hang in there Scott. I spent the day in a room with a bunch of mathematicians in Arlington, VA if you know what I mean (Jim should). Tired.
  22. Shhh, don't tell everyone - I only had an extra $102K in the bank account. Wait, why did I get stuck with the Peak???
  23. I hope he doesn't do well, if he does, I lose in both leagues!
  24. Nate, thanks for the offer. I contacted the good guys at Blue Jeans Cables and asked about a custom cable, TRS (with a floating ring) to RCA, and they said they would be happy to do it so I'll just probably do that. That way you can just sit back in the hammock in retirement.
