This is my interpretation (but I am no expert). They take one whole unit of red blood cells and two to three units of plasma (two to three times what they would get when they took whole blood) and they give you back your platelets along with some saline solution (my least favorite part... cold in your veins isn't fun). Since I have O- blood, it would be best if I could give double red blood cells but I am not tall enough (but I could maybe do this if I went to one of the blood centers instead of a drive).

Got an invitation to become a Fellow of the AMS (American Mathematical Society)! Of course, this is the first year of the program so many others are also being invited. Still, it will be useful to put on my CV for future promotion to full professor. Also, gave a donation of red blood cells+plasma this morning.

Setup the Pico DAC to work with Logitech Touch. I cannot believe it took me this long to realize I could use a USB DAC (even a bus powered one) with the Touch! Guess I might be sending the Schitt back.

Got the Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter (for the MB Air). Much faster downloads than the USB to Ethernet adapter (and clears up a USB port) - not that I really need the extra speed on a daily basis. USB Thunderbolt
