  1. Got my latest COVID booster (Pfizer) today. With Karen in treatments and us doing some travelling soon we wanted to be caught up. We got the latest version, didn't think it was coming out until later September or October; so feel good about that.

  2. Celebration, Volume 1 by Wayne Shorter (2024) https://album.link/i/1752553726 Example: "Celebration, Volume 1 is the first in a series of releases that saxophonist and composer Wayne Shorter curated from archival material before his passing in 2023. The album features his long-running band—Panamanian pianist Danilo Perez, bassist John Patitucci, and drummer Brian Blade—in a live 2014 performance recorded at the Stockholm Concert Hall in Sweden." Nice to have the first in a series of good recordings of the late Wayne. This one features a lot of the Zero Gravity works. Good stuff.

  3. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Wild God. Jury still out after one listen through, but it's certainly got that majesty that he's delivered before. A little more positive vibes as well. Will need some more plays to see how it catches on, but I'd say very good so far.

  5. Yes that's more or less exactly how it was but without the hair or handsomeness.

  9. Recently bricked my M2 MacBook Air by the simple expedient of drunkenly spilling bourbon into the keyboard. Luckily I had AppleCare coverage and just told them it suddenly stopped working and they were like whatever just send it back and get an M3, which I did. It has 24 GB of RAM and gotta say, it's snappy. Both kids are still on iPhone 13s and will get an upgrade to 16s. I like my 15 Pro Max just fine so I'll probably stand pat.

  10. I'm late to the party on this, but I put it on when I was cooking dinner and got sucked in. Thanks to Mikey and Tyler for bringing it to my attention. I am impressed by the audacity of the experience Disney tried to create, but she does a great job in showing how much they fell short. Gettting 80% of the way there is something, but that last 20% can make the difference between a good and bad trip but is a bear to get right. I still find the idea intriguing. How do you create "individual" in-person experiences at scale and still keep costs down. You can see what they were going for and what the idea was, it just didn't work. Anyways, good video!
