  1. During the course of this move 6 of the 8 feet on my Gallo subs. Just desentagrated. The rubber has dried solid and they've just crumbled. They do sell replacements but they're proud of them, and I'm sure those will eventually crumble too. So I bought some 6mm Allen head bolts and some rubber tabs... They sit a bit lower but that's fine. These power conditioners make a pretty good foundation. And you can tell by the name that they're quality units. The 8 sockets per unit is just perfect for the amount of gear I have plugged into them. The old feet...

  2. Why, oh why, did you put a link that has "Stud Bumpers" and "size" mentioned in the URL? There's gonna be at least 3 @swt61-sourced jokes in the next reply.

  4. That's an iPod that Fitz modded for me. It has a 1tb. solid state drive and an extended, upgraded battery. It'll run continuous for over 4 days. Although the Wadia charges it as well.

  5. so this is the way to do it correctly. its the only way not to seriously effect the thd. unfortunately both opamps have to take the voltages of the output devices. which means they have to be opa445 you set rv2 to the maximum amount of current. Then B1 is a 10k pot to V+ and ground. r11 is actually 100k.

  9. I'm jelly! I did meet Elvis as a young lad though. My Uncle was a pit boss at the Tropicana, and introduced my family to him in '70. That led to a multi-year Elvis infatuation. Which explaines my first album.

  10. Oh, and tell Colin that I'm challenging him to a clothing duel. Older, wiser gay man that can throw down a fabulous ensemble in 15 seconds or less, to younger, over confident gay man that probably thinks it's avantgard to mix pattern on pattern, especially of differing sizes. I'm throwing down the gauntlet! The supple, milk chocolate brown, lambskin gauntlet.

  12. Marc designed these speakers and they are over achievers. But I'm dying to set my vinyl of the 1812 Overture on the turntable, and see how the system performs under load. Those are perfect. Thanks Doug!

  16. I met Per Lundahl at Capital Audio Fest last year, and in trying to figure out what I could use I'd have for Lundahl transformers I asked about winding something that can drive e-stats, planars, low impedance, speakers from separate taps. I had also just bought a bunch of 6336B dual triodes, so thought that might work. The transformers came and many months went by but finally rigged something up. Basically right now it's just 6336B with both triodes in parallel, running about 200mA with a B+ of 260V. There's an e-stat output that steps up, and also 50 ohm and 6 ohm outputs. The grid voltage is set by a bunch of 9V in series. The black box in the middle on top of the Wendy's napkin is a little 4W 12V to 600V DC/DC converter for the e-stat HP bias. I'm actually driving it from the headphone jack of a Ray Samuels Raptor right now 🤣 Have sound coming out but no chance yet to do much further testing

  19. Well, it had to be done. Udon at Ishin...so good. They do a lot of fusion style Udon and this one is brisket and.....ginger. I only need so much ginger in my life so I ask for it on the side. If in Houston, Ishin Udon and the Tan Tan bowl there is amazing if you like spicy and are good with pork. HS
