Lil Knight Posted July 6, 2013 Report Posted July 6, 2013 (edited) I've got the permission from Dr Gilmore for a second run of boards, so let's do it again. Linky to the spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AoNVeoQi85GgdFVrMmtReVpWNVBsQUo2Sl9iSkItM2c#gid=0 Please take a look at the notes before putting your needed quantity. If you want something extra (like a single PSU or amp), just put a note under Extra Requirement column. The Megatron is not fully-tested so if you really want to try it, do it at your own risk. Probably another 3 weeks for fabricating. Shipping time right after. Feel free to let me know if I miss something. Cheers. Edited July 7, 2013 by Lil Knight 2
n_maher Posted July 6, 2013 Report Posted July 6, 2013 Is the sigma22 the preferred power supply for the squarewave?
Lil Knight Posted July 6, 2013 Author Report Posted July 6, 2013 You can just tweak the KSA5 psu to have proper voltage for the squarewave. Of course the S22 would be great.
kevin gilmore Posted July 6, 2013 Report Posted July 6, 2013 the squarewave boards are single channel. you need 2 for stereo, 4 for balanced
purk Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 the squarewave boards are single channel. you need 2 for stereo, 4 for balanced Compared to the balanced dynalo designed, how good is the squarewave? I love my original Gilmore Reference Balanced. Thanks KG.
chiguy Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 Will there be a Megatron PSU board also? The one found here:
eggil Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 No PSU included with the Dinahi? Is PSU included with Megatron?
spritzer Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 The KGSSHV PSU will work for the Megatron. The universal was just that but with an extra C- supply for the BATE, ESX etc. and a delay line for the tube heaters. I'll use the BH supply so just above 400V. Much smaller and stuff I already have assembled... For the Dynahi the S22 will do just fine but don't skimp on the heatsinks.
Lil Knight Posted July 7, 2013 Author Report Posted July 7, 2013 I will ask Dr Gilmore about the PSU. S22 is just what I am going to use with the Dynahi. 2.5" heatsinks and maybe, brings down the bias a bit.
Lil Knight Posted July 7, 2013 Author Report Posted July 7, 2013 For the boards? I have no idea about this until finalizing the quantity.
StrawHat Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 Would it be possible to add the Dynalo mk2 to the list?
spritzer Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 No problem on my end. Not tested just yet but I should have the final parts this week.
DefQon Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 Interested in Dynahi and the KSA boards. Will wait till finalized production for costs.
palchiu Posted July 8, 2013 Report Posted July 8, 2013 Hi Tran, Questions about notes in spreadsheet. Squarewave = KSA5 PSU + Amp Is that means "One set" include 1 x PSU and 2 x amp PCB? Dynahi onboard = 2x New amp board ONLY. No PSU. "One set" include 2 x amp PCB for balanced setting? Thanks! Pal
Lil Knight Posted July 8, 2013 Author Report Posted July 8, 2013 (edited) Hi Pal, Overkill is a standard here so everything will be balanced, if possible. The quantity in the spreadsheet is for set which already includes amp boards and PSU board, not the number of single boards, so please take note of that. Extra Requirement column is used just in case you want something extra or for backup. The KSA5 and Squarewave share the same PSU which is either original or alternative. Choose what you want. KGSSHV = 2x amp boards (either mini onboard or standard offboard) + 1x mini PSU. Squarewave = 4x amp boards (each board is single channel) + 2x KSA5 psu (either original or alternative, just note what you want). Dynahi onboard = 2x amp boards for balanced. Use the Sigma22 for PSU. KSA5 = 1x amp + 1x PSU. Since the board is huge, it's stereo only. Putting the quantity = 2 if you really want it balanced. Megatron = 1x amp for now. I will see if I could add the PSU for it. If not, the KGSSHV PSU will be included. From what I see from the spreadsheet, eggil seems to be confused about the extra requirement The PSUs are already included in the set. Nebby and holland might be confused about the number of sets. Cheers Edited July 8, 2013 by Lil Knight
palchiu Posted July 8, 2013 Report Posted July 8, 2013 Hi Tran, Thanks for your explain, now is clear questions to input numbers in spreadsheet. Thank you very much! Pal
Lil Knight Posted July 8, 2013 Author Report Posted July 8, 2013 Good to hear that. I will revise the BOM for KGSSHV and Dynahi shortly, basing on my last order from Mouser.
holland Posted July 8, 2013 Report Posted July 8, 2013 (edited) holland might be confused about the number of sets. Yeah, I am. I will correct, thanks much! I'm glad to hear that everything will be balanced sets. I added a request for a PSU for the Megatron, but if you're including something I'll remove that too. No problem on my end. Not tested just yet but I should have the final parts this week. Yes!!! Edited July 8, 2013 by holland
seroxatmad Posted July 8, 2013 Report Posted July 8, 2013 Hi Would you be prepared to ship to the UK? Regards John
Lil Knight Posted July 8, 2013 Author Report Posted July 8, 2013 I ship to everywhere within the Milky Way.
preproman Posted July 8, 2013 Report Posted July 8, 2013 Can the specs be provided on a 4 board Squarewave build?
n_maher Posted July 8, 2013 Report Posted July 8, 2013 Could you explain the differences (briefly) between the two KSA5 PSU's?
kevin gilmore Posted July 8, 2013 Report Posted July 8, 2013 original version was cascading zeners. which is not really fully regulated, but has been evaluated to be ultra quiet, noise levels in the 50's of nanovolts. the second version is fully regulated, but may or may not be as quiet. krell produced both versions. the first version with lower voltage zeners is suitable for the squarewave. the second version you would have to change 2 resistors.
